hi all,my wife and I have just gotten the apple tv 4th generation, having upgraded from a 2nd gen medel. can we turn off the row 1 column 2 announcements as we navigate? obviously it could be row 1 column 3, row 2 column 2 as navigating home screen? also, can we disable voiceover talking when a netflix or other content starts as the talking is distracting from the start of the program. thanks for any help.

Honestly, I've found my apple TV 4 basically unusable since upgrading to ios 11, thanks to the "accelerated swipe" so-called feature and a lag in adjusting to accessibility on the part of Hulu and Netflix and SLing. I planned on posing a topic to see if others were continuing to have the same experience, or if it was worth trying to reset the device.
To get rid of the verbosity, my standard practice has always been to just shut down VO with tripple-clicking the home button when I don't need it, since I watch with a sighted partner (otherwise, why not just use my iphone?). And boy, aren't some of those episode synopses incredibly long? With the Battlestar Galactica reboot, I felt like I didn't need the episode after I'd been forced to hear the synopsis. In short, I got no good news for ya.
