Apple has today released iOS 11.1.1, which according to Apple's release notes via MacRumors fixes the following two bugs:

  • Fixes an issue with keyboard auto-correct
  • Fixes an issue where Hey Siri stops working

With this being a double-dot release, we do not anticipate that it will include any fixes to the bugs that currently affect blind and low vision users in iOS 11. However, we will update this post if we learn of any fixes. In the meantime, please let us know in the comments of any fixes, enhancements or regressions that you find in your own testing of this release.

iOS 11.1.1 is available via Over-the-Air Update (Settings > General > Software Update) or via iTunes on a Mac or PC.

I found something interesting since I've been using IOS 11.1.1 that is that the key on my keyboard that has been the ' key was no longer giving me that result, I went into keyboard settings and turned off smart punctuation and that resolved thee issue.

I know I know - I wasn't expecting they'd fix it with this release, but am I alone in fighting this battle now? the pound sign bug is still there and I would give pound sign 50 to make it go away, or if that's too generous, maybe pound sign 49 dot 99. And do I expect it to be resolved in the next release? Number.
