Has anyone had any success in finding an accessible digital wallet for Mac? Any other associated tips for dealing with bitcoins are much appreciated as my research has come up with very little on the topic.
I have not had a lot of success when it comes to wallets to hold my BTC, however, buying them with coinbase is kinda easy, at least it was when I set up my account a couple years ago. They will want a bank account from you though. If you want to use localbitcoins.com to buy Bitcoin, you might be able to go that rout. Have you looked into the blockchain.info wallet?
I use coin bass, and I've been using the web platform, or the iOS app, and from what I can gather it seems to be accessible.
I was using Jaxx, which was accessible, but after I had heard word of Jaxx being hacked. I immediately switched.
Hope this helps.

As mentioned the Coinbase web platform and app are both pretty accessible. I did find the Coinbase fees quite high for me (UK) so have been using Bitstamp more - web and app are mostly accessible though take a little getting used to. For transferring between other currency pairs I find the web version of Shapeshift to be usable, the iOS app less so.
I've tried several other exchanges and wallets and most are really not very accessible unfortunately.

Good question
I don't have any experience with bit coin, but I would also like to hear anyone's experience with finding accessible tools, mac or windows.
