I want to create a whole separate library of Christmas music in Itunes and once done have it go to my various devices; IPad IPhone MAC and PC. But is their a way of doing this on my PC without having to delete my original music library of over 1600 songs from ITunes? I want to be able to have access to the Christmas music I store now and to be able to keep it somehow till next year but I don't want the christmas stuff interspurced with my original music library. Is their a way of keeping them separate and distinct from each other and to be able to access them on all devices; thanks for any help.

It is possible to do what you suggest, but it's not easy. You could save off your current library by finding it in your /music/iTunes folder. Then start fresh with the holiday music. Finally, you could copy back your old library. However, I think this would be quite cumbersome. I'd be more inclined to use playlists. You could create a a holiday playlist, and sync it to all devices. If you wanted to exclude holiday music from your main area, you could either create a playlist that excludes it, create a playlist that doesn't include it, or even use the "check box" to say not to include the holiday music in a normal sync. One of the nice things about iTunes is the smart playlist feature. One can become quite creative with it, and accomplish the sort of scenario you are attempting. Sure, I wish it went further, but it's still fairly powerful.
