apps for walking and travel

I have two questions.
1. When walking, what is the best app for locating the address you are closest to?
2. When traveling by car, what app tells you what is around you in the city you are driving through?

I know other apps do this too, but Apple maps tells you your closest address as you walk. In my experience, it is pretty accurate.

BlindSquare is great for telling what's around you and knows if you are driving or walking. I also love Nearby Explorer because you can change search providers. Curiously for me the iMOVE app seems to be the best with address numbers. Remember, no app really is that good with address numbers. They know the block you are on and make estimates. If you have BlindSquare and Nearby Explorer you have access to the onboard maps provided by NavTeq licensed by Nearby Explorer, plus Google Maps and Google places, FourSquare, and Openstreet maps. Different places work better or worse with different search providers. Out in rural Ohio I found nothing with Google places or FourSquare, but plenty with the onboard maps of Nearby Explorer. Here in Silicon valley even FourSquare tops google places. In Europe I understand the OpenStreet maps are especially accurate.
I've been gradually acquiring all the mapping apps, budgeting for a few each year. That's really the way to go. Seeing Eye is the only one I don't yet have.

AS said above Apple Maps seems to get you closest to the location your looking for on a block. I have often experienced that its accurate within 50 feet or less. Nearby Explore is a really powerful GPS to explore what is around you, looking for points of interest, telling you the streets that your on and approaching etc. Accuracy by far goes to Maps and most accessible solution Nearby Explore. With these two GPS tools your bound to find the place that you need.
