reacting to comments on Facebook

Hello all!

Someone told me you can react to comments on Facebook now and not just like them. However, I'm not seeing it. I've clicked on a comment and only seen like and view the person's profile. I'm running the latest version of Facebook on the latest version of ios. 10 on my ipad. Am I missing something? I double-tapped and held the like button, but I didn't get the reactions. Has anyone been able to use this with Vo. or is it a feature that's there, but is hidden from Vo.? Do I need to be on Ios. 11 for it to work? Can anyone please tell me how to use this feature if it's available to a Vo. user? If it isn't right now, I sure hope they make it accessible. Thanks in advance!

hi there, i can't test what would happen with a two finger double tap on a facebook post at this time, as i'm on a call. how ever, i went into a post, and single finger double tapped and held on like, and the reactions popup came up with no problems.
what i do noticed sometimes with ios, is that if you have flicked through various items on the screen, sometimes the actual focus doesn't follow it, so that the thing you're trying to activate, isn't actually on the screen that's showing for a sighted person. and in that case, links and other things won't activate. you need to actually make sure that the like button is visible on the screen, by doing something like exploring the screen with a finger, as aposed to flicking through. if that's not the problem, i'm not sure why it's not working for you.
i'm on ios 11 on my ipad pro, but ios 11 vs ios 10 should not be the problem.
either way, once you double tap hold on the like button, for about 2 or 3 seconds, the reactions popup should show up, and then you can flick through them and double tap the one you want to pick. and or you can tap another part of the screen, and dismiss the reactions popup.

I tried 1 finger double-tapping and holding on the like button and all it did was like the comment. I can react to posts, but not comments. It's rather weird to me too. I even explored the screen, and couldn't find the react button. All I seen was: like, view the profile of the person who commented, report and copy.

1st, I'm glad to know I'm not alone!
2nd, I hope FB. comes to their senses and makes this feature accessible with the next update!
3rd, I cannot see for the life of me why Fb. wouldn't make this feature accessible! They made reacting to posts accessible, but they didn't make reacting to comments accessible! How interesting...

in my opinion FB has big problem with accessibility in his app and they don't fixing bugs associated with support VoiceOver so fast.

Try two finger double tap on the comment. That worked for me.

A two-fingered double tap works for me.

I am not experiencing any trouble at all. Just double tap with two fingers on the comment and you will get a window that will say like, react, love, etc. I hope that helps. Good luck.

I've tried the 2-finger double tap on comments, and it's still not showing up. I can like them and do other things with them, but nothing else. Maybe when the next update for Fb. is pushed out, the issue will be miraculously fixed. I've seen it happen in other apps before. Or maybe when I go to ios. 11 it'll somehow miraculousby fix it. I know that it shouldn't have anything to do with it, but in my eyes, you never know. I might actually get that lucky for a change! lol A girl can dream right?

Also, I think Fb. is fast/slow, when it comes to certain Vo. bugs. Sometimes I'll have a bug with 1 update and it'll get fixed with the next update. Don't know if that was intentional or not but that's how it works out at times. I just cannot wrap my head around why this is happening. The only logical thing it seems like to me is that it's hidden from Vo.

Hi:
A possible solution to your problem could be deleting the Facebook app and re-installing it. Delete it, then restart your phone and downloaded from the App Store. It may be one of those issues that solve themselves that way. Good luck.
