Hi. I have both english and spanish set up on my mac, with veried settings for each voice. However, I tend to work with spanish documents a lot. My voiceover rotor option is set to automatic language detection. However, when I open a document in spanish, the voice doesn't switch, it stays in the english voice. Any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks for any help

No Language Attribute
The problem is that your documents are, presumably, written in TextEdit or something similar. THere's no way for the program to know for sure what language they use, as that isn't actually stored anywhere. VO depends on the author of a file specifically telling it, "This section is written in Spanish." This is easier to do with web pages, because there's a native "lang," attribute you can just put into your HTMl code.
Something to add
Hello, language deataction doesn’t work in everywere. And in latin languages some of the letters very similer to englilish or french, and VoiceOver can’t know whisch language the text was writen.
html code
hi, I sent to accessibility@apple.com this issue and their response was that It just works on html codes which means if you have a web page with links in different languages. it doesn't even read different language text on the web page. for me this is not beneficial at all, I personally don't consider it as a new great feature.
