Hello listers: I am using ios 10 and iphone 7. I encounter following behavior. Let us say that I am reading an email message in the native ios client using my focus braille display and voice over. In the middle of the message I need for various reasons switch to another application. When I switch back to my mail client I land at the beginning of the message and not where I left off. I was told that a friend of mine encountered the same behavior in other apps such as word and pages. Is there a solution for this problem? Thanks for your responses.

Yes, I think this is a problem in many apps - i.e. losing your place when you return.

I have made this suggestion to Apple accessibility before and it might be good if others of us would also.

For sighted users returning to an ap or exiting a mail message, it is easy to continue from where they left However, for for a person using VO, if they are not placed where they were when they left, it is a bit of a chore and very inefficient to find out where one left off. In fact, it would be really nice if VO had the ability to create placemarkers in documents as well as remember where one was before they left an app or mail message.

Maybe Apple will figure out some day that such a feature or features would improve the productivity of blind users.
