iOs 11 + iPhone 7 -- voiceover with huge lag

Hey folks,

Just upgraded to iOs 11. Voiceover seems to have a lag to announce things. using regular flick commands to navigate between items I can notice that it takes longer, to the point where it becomes noticeable and annoying, its lag.

It is usable, but clearly much slower to respond to commands.

is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I updated last week on my iPhone 7 and apart from some of the bugs already mentioned it is running very well. No lag with Voice Over although very ocasionally I noticed a crackling effect.

thanks for the info, will switch to English (was using Brazilian Portuguese), and see if anything changes.

Hi Lucas, I was having the same issue with voice-over and iOS 11.
Upgrading to iOS 11.1 seems to have fixed it though, but the new update also has its own problems so you might want to check before you upgrade.

Hi, did you try a phone reset (not a wipe/clean, but a hard reset/restart) after the update? If not, try it. Just press and hold the lock button and volume down for about 10 seconds then let go. The phone should shut off and restart automatically. Also, which Voice are you using?

Yes! Same here with my iPhone 7. Especially entering and leaving folders on the home screen is extremely slow with VoiceOver. It is very bothering. I hope they're going to fix this.

With Ava, I don't find much difference between 10 and 11 in terms of lag. With the new Siri female voice, I find the response time to be a little too slow for my liking.

What bothers me more is the audio crackling. I haven't nailed down what I do to start it. Nor have i found a consistent fix. I can live with the voice idiosyncrasies, but poor audio is something i hope not to have to deal with for long.

Hi,
I was having the same issue with my IPhone 6 but upgrading to IOS 11.0.1 fixed it also, I have not experienced any crackling since I upgraded so far.

I tried the reset, but same problem persists. I was using Luciana (Brazilian Portuguese tts). Will give updating once again a try.

I too have noticed on my 8 Plus with iOS 11.01 that opening and closing folders seems to take a little longer then it did on my 6 Plus with iOS 10.3.3. The folder thing could just be part of iOS 11.
