Unusual Siri behaviour

iOS and iPadOS

Hi, i'm facing an unusual issue with Siri and I hope that I might be able to get some answers from this forum.
Are am using an iPad Air running iOS 10.3.3 and an iPhone running iOS 11, and the issue I am about to describe occurs on both devices.
Normally, when I ask Siri to search Google with a particulars search query, it will bring up the Google website in the Safari browser with my query in the search box and a list of results below.
However, for some reason today when I asked Siri to search Google It responds with " here is what I found on the web" followed by a list of results provided by Bing, not Google even though I specifically asked Siri to search Google.
I have tried changing the preferred search engine but this doesn't seem to have any effect.
I am wondering if anyone else is having this issue, I would like to try and respond to any questions I receive here but I'm having trouble changing my password to login, and the link I'm using now is only valid for 24 hours.
Thanks for any help or feedback you can provide.

I am having mixed results with this as well. Sometimes it seems to work, but mostly it doesn't. It does seem to have better results when I pause a moment after google.com, before stating the search terms. I will continue testing/trying.

It's nice to know I'm not alone in this, though it doesn't seem to work at all for me.
It's an unusual issue because it seems to affect Siri across multiple devices, unless it's not a bug but when I called Apple support, they seemed just as confused as I am.
I'm just wondering if you can remember when it stopped working for you, I only noticed it today and I'm pretty sure it was working correctly yesterday.

I noticed in one of the posts above that one can apparently change the default search provider in iOS. How does one do this?

thanks.

Go to settings, and find safari and double tap on it.
Flick right till you find search engine.
Double tap on that and you should h a list of different search engines.
Double tap on one of them and you should be set.
