Hi,
I was wondering what is the best way to prepair an IPhone for sale? I know first doing a factory reset, but as far as it being on a specific carier do I need to remove the sim card as well?
Thanks

Hi, If your SIM card is still active to that carrier (meaning you have service with them), your number is linked to it, so you would have to keep the card; or if your card has been activated, you'll have to take it out, since most carriers won't activate a sim card as new if it has been previously used. The only reason you would leave it is if the card came with the phone from Apple, and you never used the SIM card, and you are selling it in the box; the box should have the SIM ID on it, so that card could be activated as new by the new buyer.

Regarding anything else to do, a complete reset/wipe, or even a restore from iTunes to get it reset/wiped and updated to the latest operating system. If you do use iTunes, monitor the install/restore process after the download, and then unplug the phone's USB plug when iTunes says that the restore is complete and that it's waiting for the iPhone to reconnect. This will prevent iTuens from trying to automatically setup the phone with your user name or trying to activate the phone online.

Finally, if you have another Apple deice, in your iCloud settings, remove this hpone from your trusted devices list.
