Today brings the release of iOS 11. And, as is generally the case with major updates of iOS, it comes with some new bugs for blind and low vision users. So, to help you with making an informed decision as to whether to update your device, we bring you here, details of the bugs that members of the AppleVis Editorial Team have identified during their own testing of iOS 11.
As is now our routine practice, each bug has been given a severity rating; these ratings are based upon what we believe to be the implications for accessing and using iOS features and functionality and the level of impact on the overall user experience.
If you have not already updated your device to iOS 11, we strongly recommend that you read through this post and any comments before doing so—as this will allow you to make an informed decision on whether to install iOS 11 at this time. This is particularly important for those who use and rely on braille displays, as there are some significant problems in this first release of iOS 11 that we believe you should be aware of before updating.
As we always stress, we can make no claims on the completeness or accuracy of our testing. We are only a small team, and it is simply impossible for us to test all devices, configurations, applications, and use cases.
Some of the bugs listed below will be specific to a certain device, configuration, or use case. So, it is entirely likely that you will not encounter all of what we list; and it is also very likely that you will encounter bugs or regressions that are not mentioned here.
To help us ensure that the information on this page is as complete and accurate as possible, we would appreciate feedback from those who have installed iOS 11 —both to confirm whether they are encountering the same problems (or have found workarounds), as well as to let us know of any additional issues that are not on this list. Of course, it’s even more important that you let Apple know of any additional bugs that you find (they already know about the ones currently listed here). This post explains why you should report bugs directly to Apple, as well as the best ways to do so.
With all of the disclaimers out of the way, here are the new bugs for blind and low vision users which we believe to be present in iOS 11:
Serious Bugs
- When using a braille display or braille keyboard for text input, if you type quickly, the translator will not recognize all text typed. We have observed this behavior occurring both with US and UEB braille, and with both uncontracted and contracted 6-dot input. The longer the string of text entered, the more characters the translator will miss.
- When using the VoiceOver Actions Menu to delete a conversation from the Messages app, it is not completely removed from the list of message threads. In it's place will be left a “broken” item in the list which VoiceOver announces as “null”. Whilst in this state, the message list will not update to display or give access to any new messages; to resolve this, you will need to close the Messages app via the App Switcher. To avoid this problem, we recommend that you use the “Edit” button to select and delete conversations and not the Actions menu.
- There are multiple issues when attempting to read a PDF file with VoiceOver. These issues are sporadic in nature; problems our team has identified include:
- Upon opening a PDF document, the document sometimes is not seen by VoiceOver at all;
- PDF documents sometimes are not read in their entirety by VoiceOver;
- An inability to swipe around the screen to locate the beginning of a document, necessitating that VoiceOver users explore by touch or use the “Headings” Rotor option to attempt to locate the text; and
- An inability to consistently navigate PDF documents by heading, even when headings are present.
Moderate Bugs
- When using a braille display to edit large blocks of text, you may find that the braille cursor and VoiceOver both become sluggish if you try to move the cursor to a different place in the text.
- When you have both VoiceOver and Zoom enabled, you cannot enter “Edit” mode on the Home screen—meaning that you cannot delete or organize apps/folders.
- When both VoiceOver and Zoom are enabled, the behaviour of multitouch gestures (typically those which have you use 3 or 4 fingers) is inconsistent and unreliable.
- If you use the VoiceOver Actions Menu in the App Switcher to close the app that you were just using, you will commonly find that your device will crash and respring. This does not occur if you close other apps.
- As of iOS 11, Home Screen icons are managed using a new “Drag” option accessed through the VoiceOver Actions menu. If you start performing a drag, and then use the “Cancel Drag” option from the Actions Menu, you will commonly find that the item initially marked for dragging ends up in a different location on the Home Screen to where it was at the start.
- You can no longer use the “React” option from the VoiceOver Actions Menu on notifications of new messages. If you use the “More” action to interact with a notification; the resulting page shows the message and a reply field. The Actions Menu can be accessed here on the body of the incoming message and includes “React”, but double-tapping on this does nothing.
- After using the “More” option from the VoiceOver Actions menu on a Lock Screen notification, you may find on occasions that 1 or more other notifications which were previously listed on the Lock Screen are now gone.
Minor Bugs
- When on the Lock Screen or Cover Sheet (formerly the Notifications Centre), flicking up or down with 1 finger on the “Page x of 3” control no longer moves you between pages. The control itself will change (for example, from “Page 2 of 3” to “Page 1 of 3”, etc.), but the page itself does not change.
- When VoiceOver speaks a notification when it initially arrives, you may find that on occasions part of that announcement will be “in 1 minute”, rather than “now”.
- If you are playing audio through an external device, the “Playback Destination” button on the Mini Player screen of the native Music app no longer includes the name of the destination device (although this information is visually present on screen, it is not spoken by VoiceOver).
- In the Files app that is new in iOS 11, the VoiceOver Actions Menu for files and folders includes two separate instances of “Delete”. In some instances, one of these will be “Delete Now”; on other occasions, both will be “Delete”.
- After performing a search in the App Store, VoiceOver will behave as if the list of Trending Searches is present at the end of the list of search results. This is not the case; this list is not visually present on screen, and apps reported by VoiceOver as being in this list cannot be accessed. Note that the list of Trending Searches is present and works as expected before you perform a search.
- When you first go to the Apps; Games; or Updates tab in the App Store, you should find a “My Account” button near the top of this page. However, if you swipe some way through the list of apps shown on this page, you will find that this button can no longer be located (either by swiping or touch). To temporarily resolve this issue, we recommend that you double-tap with 1 finger on the Status Bar.
- When reading text that includes the “£” symbol, VoiceOver speaks this in the form of “Pound Sign 10” rather than “10 Pounds” (note that this is the symbol for the UK currency).
- On the Emergency SOS settings screen (Settings > Emergency SOS), there is an unlabeled element immediately after the “Emergency SOS” heading. This is a graphic showing the location of the Power button, but it is not spoken at all by VoiceOver.
- On occasions, audio will begin to break up and “crackle” (this has been seen with the device's internal speaker, and when playing audio through a connected speaker or headset). We have found that toggling VoiceOver off and back on again will typically resolve this issue.
- VoiceOver no longer provides feedback when using the physical buttons on a device to change volume.
- When bluetooth is enabled, but no devices are connected, VoiceOver will announce “Bluetooth Connected” when focus is placed on the bluetooth icon in the Status Bar. In this scenario, VoiceOver should preferably announce “Bluetooth On”.
- This behavior itself is not new in iOS, but we have detected what we believe to be a slight increase in the frequency of voiceOver becoming unresponsive and needing to be restarted to resume normal working behavior. In particular, it seems more common that spoken output from VoiceOver will stop, but the other VoiceOver sound effects continue.
If you encounter any additional accessibility bugs in iOS 11, please let others know by posting a comment below. When doing so, please provide as much information as possible so that others know exactly what to expect; when and where the problem occurs; and any possible workarounds you have found.
Changes, Not Bugs
As is common with major OS updates from Apple, a few changes to VoiceOver behavior have been made in iOS 11. The first time that you encounter one of these and find things not working as you expect, you might reasonably believe that something is broken. so, to help avoid this, here are some of the more notable changes that we are already aware of:
- You now need to set the Home Screen to “Edit” mode before the VoiceOver Actions menu is available in full on app and folder icons. This is achieved by placing VoiceOver focus on to any Home Screen icon, and then performing a 1 finger double-tap and hold until VoiceOver announces “Started editing”. The Actions menu will now have the option to “Activate” (which is used to delete an app) and “Drag” (which is used to move and organize icons).
- In some apps (notably the Mail app), the last used option from the VoiceOver Actions Menu is persistent as you move VoiceOver focus between items. For example, you may use the Actions Menu to delete an email. With VoiceOver focus now on another email, a double-tap will also delete that email. Until you get used to this change in behavior, we would suggest that you check that the Actions Menu is definitely on your desired option before double-tapping. This need for some care is exacerbated by the fact that this pattern of behavior is not currently consistent across the OS and apps.
- In Safari views embedded within other apps, the positions of the address field, Reader button, and Done button have changed. Reader is now on the right, whilst Done is a little tricky at times to locate by touch. We recommend that you use a two-finger scrub instead, or touch the address field or Reader button, then swipe right.
- In Mail, double-tapping the body of a message when composing an email now puts you at the start, rather than at the end.
- The Status Bar can no longer be located by touch when in a Home Screen folder.
One final observation that we wanted to make in this post, is that our testing has suggested that the display of notifications on the Lock Screen is not completely consistent or reliable. If you believe that there should be more notifications displayed on the Lock Screen, then one suggestion is to use a 3 finger swipe down on the Status Bar, as we have found that on occasions this will reveal additional notifications. However, do not be surprised if when accessing the Cover Sheet (the new name for what was the Notifications Center when your device is unlocked) you find notifications that were not displayed on the Lock Screen. We have no reason to think that this is a VoiceOver-specific problem, but wanted to mention it here as it might be easy to assume that it is.
To close, we want to stress that based upon our own experience with the iOS 11 beta cycle, Apple's Accessibility Team has strived to make the final release as free of bugs as possible for blind and low vision users. Naturally, it is disappointing to be reporting that there are new bugs, but it is our expectation that Apple engineers will be working hard to resolve these and the other outstanding bugs as soon as possible.
Comments
Alternative characters do not function correctly
At least in the Spanish version of iOS it is currently not possible at this time to insert accented characters. I wonder how alternative characters, those which require you to long-press on top of a particular letter to reveal the set of alternative characters, work in other languages other than English.
Serious bug Spontaneous crashing and deletion of new Siri voices
If you use the VoiceOver settings to download one of the new Siri Voices that use neural nets (they'll just be called Siri male/Siri female and be at least 300 MB or larger), certain scenarios will cause the Voice to get corrupted and crash. I'm not sure what exactly causes it, but if you get into this situation, , it will cause VoiceOver to start crashing. You may be able to recover it if you flick off of that broken voice or restart your phone. After a restart, you'll find that voice revert to a built-in compact variant, and the Siri voice deleted from your phone. This also only seems to affect voices that you downloaded manually, while the default voice you set for Siri will always be available to VO and not get deleted after a crash.
possible bug in voicemail tab
Hi all, I'm not sure if this is a bug, but figured that I'd report it here just in case. Under the phone app, in the voicemail tab, I have one new item. When I went in to this tab, it had a thing to call voicemail instead of displaying the messages.
No Volume sound?
Has anyone else noticed that the volume up and down sounds are gone? I haven't updated my iPhone yet and this is on my iPod.

so i updated my ios and now the volume of the voice has been turned down. The volume in the rotor stays the same as in earlier versions. i fixed this problem by maxing the voiceover volume.
Someone posted that the volume sounds are not working. they also don't work for me.
Blue tooth keyboards
There has been a long standing bug with the keyboard not being able to be used to wake up the phone and enter a password. However, this seems to have been fixed provided quick mode is off. Unfortunately, the transport and playback controls of the keyboards do not work mere seconds after a wake up. For most keyboards this is f6, f7, f8. Also the volume controls f11, and f12 will do nothing. Loose some, gain some I suppose. Problematic for me as I am a very dependent user of blue tooth keyboards. This has only been tested on my 6s iPhone as this is the only device running IOS11 at present.

confirmed volume sounds are gone
Hi, I can confirm that on my 7 plus the volume sounds are gone even though other VoiceOver sounds work as expected, talk about quality control what were apple doing with not testing this, could easily lead to a nasty surprise for someone if they turned there volume down and were trying to turn it up.
VoiceOver and Invert Colors
I too can confirm no volume sounds when adjusting the volume.
Even with Zoom off, there's an odd bug with the 4 finger swipe left and right gesture for quickly switching apps. this seems to work great on my iPhone. However, on an iPad, even with Zoom disabled, VoiceOver will allow you to switch apps in one direction, but not the other. When trying to swipe the other direction, it just makes the warbling sound like you're at the end of the list. it works fine on my phone, and on my iPad with VO off.
For low vision users, the Smart Invert feature also seems very limited. The Smart Invert feature allows the background and text to be inverted, but leave images, buttons, and other media their normal colors. I was very excited about the potential of this feature, since there is no official Dark Mode. However, the only place Smart Invert seems to work is on the Home Screen, Photos, and the App Store. Images still look inverted and pretty messed up in any other app, even Apple apps like Safari and Mail. I don't know if this feature is supposed to work system-wide, or if every app must add something specific in their code to correctly work with Smart Invert. I reported this and other bugs several times throughout the beta, so Apple should know.
Actions menu in mail
According to this blog post, http://mosen.org/a-work-around-for-one-of-the-most-serious-ios-11-accessibility-issues/, the new behavior you describe in the VoiceOver actions menu in apps such as mail is inconsistent even within instances in the same app. The fact that this workaround involves disabling 3D touch, of all things, tells me that this is in fact a bug, not an intended change of VO behavior. This should be reclassified as either a moderate or serious bug.
Upgrading against my better judgment
When I first read this blog post, I told myself that I was going to hold off on installing IOS 11 for at least a little while, but I just started downloading the update. I guess my thinking is that if I update and encounter these bugs, I can join in reporting them to Apple, which, hopefully, means that they'll get fixed faster. So far as I know, none of the serious bugs are going to impact me, and only a few of the moderate bugs might give me significant trouble. I think I'm most worried about the choppy/static audio. I'm also worried about some of the crashes described with the app switcher, but again, Apple can't fix this stuff if we don't report it, so I need to be brave and just dive right in. I just tell myself that it can't possibly be worse than the initial release of IOS 8. Or maybe it can. I guess I'll be finding out in a little while. The only feature I'm truly looking forward to is Siri's new voice, and I'm hoping that I will be able to use her voice with VO and not have any significant issues. Of course, if anything truly horrific happens that isn't already documented here, I will post about it after reporting the issue to apple. Fingers crossed that I'm not making a huge mistake.
Answering a few Questions
Like to respond to the two questions mentioned above.
First, Brennen yes, these bugs have been reported to Apple and they are aware of these problems. However, if you find any new bugs we please ask everyone to report them to Apple and the Accessibility Team of those problems. We know there are more and like everyone else we want to report them to the right people so these problems will get fixed.
Secondly, yes, the volume buttons no longer emit a click so that you can tell if they are being indeed raised or lowered. I totally disagree with the nonsense of Apple lacking in their quality department of not catching this issue. Just simply report these issues with Apple. Sometimes they may have removed something on purpose or it may indeed be a bug. Just please report these issues with Apple that you would like to have a feature back or to check on something and fix the problem if that is the case.
So far, so good, but a couple of questions
My IPhone 7 plus has just finished updating to iOS 11. So far, I haven't encountered anything too off-putting. I was nervous about the new drag and drop, but now that I've tried it, I actually like it. The IOS 10 way was slightly better, but this is almost as good.
I have two questions based on my brief time using iOS 11 so far. First, and most importantly, I don't seem to have the new siri voice, which as I stated in my previous post, was the only feature I was actually looking forward to. Siri works as expected, but she's still the Nikki voice from IOS 10. Any advice on how to get the new voice up and running would be extremely appreciatd.
My second question is what happened to the ICloud app? Was it replaced by this new files app? I suppose I'll learn the answers to these, and other questions that I may have when I start listening to podcasts, but if anyone has answers they could share, especially regarding Siri, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
Describing photos
Hello and thank you in advance for your help.. I have noticed that photos are no longer described in the photo out. I am not sure if this is a problem with regard to iOS 11, or if there is the new setting that I am missing. Could you possibly help? Thanks very much.

Drag and drop feature
Can someone please explain to me how to use the drag and drop feature? I go to my home screen, and I do it to finger double tap and hold, but it brings up an edit field for editing the currently focused item. I cannot for the life of me get this to work

Lots of great questions.
Yes, as mentioned by Greg Watcher. That is correct the iCloud Drive has now been replaced by the NEW Files app. The Files app has a total redesign and features that is making this a great tool to use. You can now add other services like Dropbox, OneDrive, etc. Making this something to check out.
As not having the new Siri voices is a bit odd. My advice is go to the Settings -> Siri and double tap say like the Male. I had this happen to me that it had to download that voice first before I could change the Gender. This might be the case for you as well. So, if you are using the Female try double tapping the Mailed first and then back to the Female to ensure that both voices have been downloaded. Let us know of your result. It is possible that others may have a better answer but this is what I had to do for my problem.
Lastly, what happen to the picture description that we had back in iOS 10. Well, there is a new feature that is supposed to improve upon describing the various pictures in iOS 11. This is a work in progress by Apple and they are asking people for some advice and help. Sadly, there is no switch or settings to make this work. This feature is set to on and is already running. Please read up on our blog that was made by one of our blogger that discuss more about this feature and some of the problems people are having with this feature.

It just me or voiceover does not say unread. Is this a bug? Using iPhone 7, new iOS 11. I went to the news app, slide to see an article, voiceover read the title but did not say unread. Seriously this seem to have more bugs that I recall with previousiOS. Hope I get a respond if this can be fix.

not the worst bug, but an odd change
Not sure if anybody else has noticed this, or if it bothers anybody else, but on my iPhone 7 I've noticed that my phone has made a curious change since upgrading to iOS 11. For reference, I use military/24-hour time.
In iOS 10, my phone would say "17:53, 4 notifications." This was the way my phone has behaved since my 3GS back in 2009. Now, all of a sudden, my phone says "4 notifications, 17:53." Again, not a huge deal, just an odd thing I was wondering if anybody else has noticed.
Drag and drop
When I focus on an app, I double tap with two fingers, I hold until the edit field pops up. It is like it wants me to edit the label element but I can’t do anything else. I don’t know what I’m missing to make this work.
regarding calling voicemail

If your voicemail tab is now giving you an option to call your voicemail, this seems to indicate that visual voicemail has been disabled. I'm not sure why this would happen with an iOS update, as I've only ever seen it happen when somebody switches phones in the past, but one never knows.
Unfortunately, the only way I'm aware of to fix this is to call your mobile carrier and ask them, if it has been indeed switched off somehow, to reenable visual voicemail on your number. If anybody else knows of another way around this, I'm sure they'll post it here.

Be sure, if your phone supports 3-d touch, you don't press too firmly with the double-tap and hold. Otherwise, yes, you will end up in the shortcuts menu. A gentle double-tap and hold should do the trick. Be sure to apply only slight pressure in the holding part of the gesture.

A few keyboard issues
I noticed a few issues when using a Bluetooth keyboard with iOS 11 on an iPad Mini 4.
1. Quick Nav must be turned off in order to use the media function keys, such as those for controlling playback and volume. In prior iOS versions, it did not matter whether Quick Nav was on or off, but now I must turn off Quick Nav to use these keys.
2. I cannot navigate the lock screen or cover sheet with a hardware keyboard. Pressing any key on the keyboard immediately dismisses the screen, either sending me to the passcode field or sending me back to whatever app I was last using. Because of this, I have to use the touch screen to navigate the lock screen and check notifications.
3. When I power off my Bluetooth keyboard, sometimes VoiceOver gives the spurious announcement, “image not found.” This does not happen every time.
I reported all of these to Apple already. Let’s see if they can be fixed eventually. I don’t know if the bugs are specific to the iPad or not, because I don’t have any other iOS devices.
waiting til some of the bugs are worked out
This is a first for me but I've decided to hang back in iOS 10 land until a few of the bugs people are talking about here are squashed. Everyone, please, please send all of these to Apple! Some of these bugs are really simple things that should've been fixed before the final release. I think, after upgrading, that turning off 3d touch might be a good idea, because I don't want menus getting in the way. So, i'm sticking to iOS 10 for the moment and will wait for the next update.
update on voicemail
Hi, just thought I'd come in here and let you know that my voicemail issue has been fixed. After I double-tapped on the button to call my voicemail and entered my passcode, then hung up, everything was back to normal. I know, that was strange.
Noticing more bugs.
As I’m typing this, I’m using a blue tooth keyboard. The first bug I’m seeing straight away is that every time I hit space after each word typed, or even after entering a punctuation after a word, VO says the word “delete, and then the word I just typed. I know for a fact I’m not deleting as I’m typing until I actually hit the backspace, of course.
I’m using an Apple wireless BT keyboard, and my iOS device is an iPhone 6+.
On the subject of the bt keyboard, I did find random times of attempting to enter something into a text field, and nothing is typed in. My way of getting around that is to shut keyboard off then turn it back on.
On another thread, and I’m not sure if this counts as a bug, but after listening to Jonathan Mosen’s book on iOS 11 without the eye, I found there were some settings missing at least on my phone after I updated, and am not sure if these settings might be more phone specific then was realized or what. For instance, I see nothing about this descriptive or closed caption media setting in verbosity settings. I did go into accessibility settings proper and made sure closed captioning was turned on, thinking that might be the case. But, nope, still did not show up in verbosity settings.
Another thing, I see nothing in accessibility settings about auto-answer, which was supposed to show up as the last setting, I believe.
What am I missing?
Missing Siri voice
I found I had to manually download the new Siri female voice by going into speech settings in accessibility, then voice. At first Nicki was still wanting to hold on to her role as The American Siri female. <chuckle>. But, I found after downloading the new one it decided to finally work.
Item sumary
I was given the impression that now with the three finger tap gesture not only would I get the position of said item but any image associated with say unlabeled or oddly labeled buttons or icons. I tried this with the Great Clips app, since it had some improperly labeled buttons. Thus far, nothing beyond what I’ve heard before in item summary. No image descriptions or anything like that. And yes, as was suggested, I did turn screen curtain off. <scratching head>
Volume by Keyboard doesn't work on My iPhone 6 and RIVO Keyboard
Volume up and Volume down, plus Mute are not working with my RIVO keyboard, on an iPhone 6.
New bug, and reply regarding volume keys
Regarding the volume and mute keys, as of iOS 11 you must turn Quick Nav off before they will work. I’m not sure how that is done on the RIVO, but I remember there’s a way to do it.
I also want to report another bug. Actually, it might be a design choice and not a bug, but it is annoying nonetheless. In the past, when I opened my iPad case, VoiceOver would read the current time and the number of notifications. In iOS 11 that no longer happens. The screen still turns on in response to opening the case, but VoiceOver is totally silent.
This only applies to waking up the iPad by opening the case. If I use the sleep/wake button to wake up the iPad, VoiceOver reads the time and notification count as usual. This is obviously an iPad specific issue.
Native podcast app ugly new design v clunky
Does anyone else use the Apple podcasts app It has had a big overhaul and is really clunky to use often crashes voice-over navigation is right how do I report how bad this new app is

Keys-to-go BT keyboard
Fascinating! I have also had some difficulties with my Logitech Keys-To-Go Bluetooth keyboard. The F8 quit the play and pause function, and F11 and F12 no longer changed the volume. Fortunately, I can manage those function with either the iPhone, a standard headset, or my AirPods when one ear is play/pause and the other is Siri. However, you all really helped me out. By turning off Quick Nav, those functions have returned.
By the way, I am enjoying iOS 11. I should note that i do not use Braille hardware and Zoom won’t do a thing for me, so those nastier bugs have not bothered me.
All in all, I am having fun with this release
After a quick glance it looks like some of the text editing functionality, that broke when we went to iOS 9, is still sick in this OS. I will double check my observation tomorrow and make sure that it still needs attention. And, if it does, I will send it along to Apple.
PDf-files in adobe reader instead
Has anyone tried to use the Adobe Reader app instead of ibooks for pdf-files? Maybe it works better.
Messages Bug
Sad to see that this bug about deleting a thread from the list of messages made it to the final build; I've been reporting it since the early beta days. I was starting to think I was the only one experiencing it since it never got fixed or attention like others I reported did.
Another one of these bugs I reported but don't see it fixed is the corrections list. If I'm not mistaking, in iOS 10 and earlier, when you backspaced, VO would set focused on the list of suggested words if the current word was misspelled. Now it speaks the word, but it keeps focus on the typing area/keyboard. Has anyone else experienced this? Type a word incorrectly, press space, then backspace once, VO should speak the first word in the suggestions list. Before it would set focus on the first word, such that you could double tap or swipe across the list to select one. Once you did, the focus would return to the edit field/keyboard. Now, VO speaks the first suggested word, but as I said, the focus doesn't move to it, so if you do a double tap to accept the word you just heard, you will in fact be activating the delete button and continue deleting.
two more bugs
1. voiceover no longer reads the call type in the recent call list. in iOS10.3.3, if you open the phone app and activated the recents tab and started browsing your call history, voiceover will tell you the source of the call after it reads the caller name and the call time, i.e. reporting wether it is a faceTime Audio, Whatsapp video, Duo Audio, Signal Audio and so on. in iOS11.0 this no longer happens. can you reproduce? or am i missing something?
2. if you turned VoiceOver volume using the rotor, now it goes to 0 per cent and becomes completely silent. in iOS10, it does not pass 1 percent so that the user do not silence the screen reader accidentally. is this an intentional change or a real bug?

new drag feature
OK so being the apple nut that I am, was straight in with the IOS11 update last night. On the whole it seems to be doing as it should, but 2 things i have noticed. firstly the double tap and hold to bring up the edit mode does require very light finger pressure or the 3D touch item is activated. 2, anyone else noticed their signal reading has changed in the new iOS? I have a home booster from EE UK, always had a solid 5 bars before, now reading at just the 4 when i am practically on top of it! strange.

Auto Answering Calls
Hi,
Under the Accessibility settings look for the Auto Routing button. Under the Auto routing button setting the last button is Auto Answering Calls. Under the Auto Answering Calls setting you can turn on or off auto answering calls as well as set the time before it answers calls automatically.
I am not able to get the captions etc. to work with Voice Over. I have the captions and subtitles option turned on under ythe Accessibility setting.

Drag and drop and how to do it.
The way to do this, is to doublet and hold until voiceover says Editing. Your then able to edit what you want. to start dragging, swipe down, you will here add to drag session. Once you have everything that you want to drag. find where you want to drop it, then use the action menu to get to the drop option. I hope that this is of help.
AirPods.
Is there a quicker way to get your apple AirPods to connect? It used to be, that this could be done on the media page of control centre. The only way now this is able to be accomplished, is to go in to setting>bluetooth and connect them that way. I refer to when the AirPods have been used with your Mac, and your trying to get them back to your iPhone. Thank you for answers.

Had not heard from anyone about voiceover not saying unread in the articles. Is this a bug? Using Eva voice, iPhone 7.
PS. I Am noticing that there are more bugs than normal with this iOS.
