Can I launch the voice over in an ipad without sighted help? On Monday, I expect my first ipad to arrive and I was wondering if there was a way for me to start the voice over working straight out of the box or do I need to wait for sighted help in order for them to set the voice over for me? I would appreciated any comments or suggestions. Thank you.

If that doesn't work for any reason hold down the home button and tell siri to turn on voiceover.

Out of the box, the pressing of the home button three times should work. You have to press three times quickly without a pause.
Siri may not work as you have to enable it during setup and Siri also requires wifi which you also have to setup.

When you take your iPad out of the box, it should be turned off. Press the Power button, wait 2 minutes to be sure the device has turned on, then press the Home Button quickly 3 times in a row. This should enable VoiceOver.
