Hello,

Was wondering if anyone has this issue and they found a way to fix it.

I have an iPhone 7 on IOS 10.3.2. With the face or screen down or in my pocket, text sound alerts does not play. When out of my pocket, or the screen or face is facing up, the alerts works fine.

Suggestions or ideas?

Thanks.

It sounds like this might be related to the "Face Down" functionality that was introduced in iOS 9, which prevents the screen from turning on when you receive a notification if your phone is laying face down on a surface, in a pocket, and so on.

If you go to Settings > Privacy > Motion and Fitness and disable theĀ ā€œFitness Trackingā€ feature, facedown detection will stop working and your iPhone will turn on its display every time it receives a notification, even if itā€™s set face down on a surface. So, you might want to try this and see if it gets your phone working the way that you want it to with notifications.

Of course, there are reasons that you may not want to disable that setting.

Hello,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that but the downside far out weighs the upside. My phone is at times used when I exercise and donā€™t have my watch available.

The Face down is suppose to help by saving battery life but the side effects is terrible.

Do iPhone 7 owners just put up with it? Or did they find another way?

Thanks.
