Hi there everyone. Now I'm active again on the AppleVis site for adding a post today. Today's post is based on an app that identifies images in 3 ways. The first way is a simple description. Secondly is getting a description in a detailed way. Lastly the way the app identifies an image is in Text Mone. If your image has a piece of text the app will only identify the text and read it for you. Finally the app is called Identifi and completly free and is for the iPhone and other Ios Devices. Try it out.

It's great to hear your enjoying the app. The app has been used in almost more than 40 countries so yes it does give picture discriptions in multiple languages. You can even set and adjust your speed in the app of Voiceover reading the description. Hope everyone enjoys.

This is great app but can I put it so that it reads both description and text so I shouldn't change the mode all the time.

What do you mean by text mode?

As I am almost deaf audio description is little use to me.
Does Identifi print a text description on the screen?
If so how do I make it do that?
All I got was an audio description.

Hi there Brian. Text mode identifies the piece of text in a picture for example the recipe on a burger box for cooking the burger with an advertise image and reads it to you. However when the app is Text Mode it will only identify the text in the image so there won't be a description. I'm not sure if your blind but with Voiceogher Identifi only gives a description read to you. Try using the app without Voicenver if your not blind and see awhat happens. If this doesn't work then I don't think this app is really effective for you. Although what you could do is download an app called BeSpecular for free. In this app you can ask anyone by sending them an image and ask what this image is including the things in it and they will reply through a written message. You would have to do the same thing through an app like Identifi that tells you about images for others. You could also try an app called Tap Tap See that does the same thing like Identifi but maybe does give a written description as well. Although this app doesn't have Text Mode or other modes in it so the description you get is only what you have. But you could also contact the developer and let hm/her know your request and they could maybe make this happen in the future updates of Identifi.
