Hello,
Anyone know of a good accessable app that tracks my daily steps, distance and active minutes? I know, I described the activity app on the watch but I’ve noticed the activity app is not very accurate. I have a fitbit and I compared the two, the AW and fitbit. While the fitbit was off about 5 steps, the AW was off 14 steps.
I’m trying to get rid of my fitbit but I’m hoping to find a reliable, easy to use and accessable app before I do.
Thanks for any suggestion.

Pedometer++
I like using Pedometer++. If you happen to have an Apple Watch, then you can add it as a complication to your watch face and can see how many steps you've taken so far. The only thing is that after walking some steps, when you look at the complication, it may take a bit of time before the complication updates, and depending on whether your placing it in a small or large complication, you can get additional information. I've placed it on a modular face at the bottom middle and find that it gives me my step count and the amount of kilometers I've walked. The only issue I have though is that when viewing the number of kilometers on the complication, it doesn't display the exact amount, it tends to round it off. For example, if you open the app on either the iPhone or the watch, it might say you've walked like 2.5 km, but when viewing this on the complication, it might say that you've walked 3 km. I plan on writing the developer and asking if it would be possible for the correct mileage to appear the watch face and not have it rounded off.
They also make other apps as well. They have a Workouts++, Sleep++, Activity++ which are fully accessible.
HTH!
Do you know...
Hello,
Thanks for the suggestion. I will check it out. Do you know if I need to keep the phone in my pocket while I walk or can I just wear the watch and leave the phone at home? With most trackers that I’ve read, it requires that the phone be with me at all times.
Thank you.
RE: Do You Know...
Hi,
It depends on which Apple Watch you have, if you have any. If you have the Series 2, I would guess that you wouldn't need the phone, but if you have the Series 1, then bringing the phone would be best as your phone has the GPS. But honestly, I've walked around my building without my phone and it seemed to track my steps. Perhaps this would be a great question to ask the developer. I know the app itself is completely free, well it does have ads at the bottom, but if you decide to tip the developer, the ads are removed. It doesn't really matter which tip option you choose either, the ads will be removed automatically. The only recommendation I would make is that if you decide to tip, keep in mind that if you ever uninstall the app and reinstall it later, you have to tip again in order to remove ads, there are no restore option. HTH!
THanks!
Hello,
Thanks for the info. I downloaded the app and so far I am liking it.
So I played around with it and it does track your steps even if you don’t have your iphone. Then when you get back to where your iPHone is, the steps are merged. You can enable this feature by going to settings and turning it on. I’m sure you’re probably aware of it but I’m posting just in case someone was interested.
