hi all, if i pend the time, in ios 10 organising my apps in to folders, something which i have never done! shame on me, but now i can, will they be preserved if i do a restore to this, or a new phone? thanks Will.
I upgraded from an iPhone 6 to a 7 last year and all my folders with the apps were setup on my new phone from an iCloud backup, also my home network password and so on were transfered. It should be fine, but there might be new apps if you're upgrading and they will just be on their own.
Hi there,
I upgraded from a 4S to a 7 this year and I don't use iCloud. I back my phone up to my pc using iTunes. With this backup all my apps, folders, etc. were restored to my new phone. I was impressed with how complete the backup and transfer was.
Hi all,
I have an IPhone 7, and I have nearly all of my apps in folders, one thing I'd really love to see is for Apple to allow us to create sub folders if you will. For example I'm a big fan of the Choice of Games titles so I have a folder just for those. Well, I now have over 31 titles, and I'd love to sort them into folders within the main Choice of Games folder. But, alas, no dice.
Just thought I'd share. :)
I agree with you Mike I don't understand why we can't have subfolders. It would make things so much easier! I think I wrote to Apple about this but I'll write to them again.
I asked the same question to an Apple Accessibility representative and he replied that it was not possible yet. I mentioned how useful it would prove to B able to create subfolders. Well, he made a note and promised he would escalate that to the corresponding people. It would be so nice if we were able to create subfolders. Let's keep sending emails to Apple and hope that they make this happen soon.
hi, i have now crafted my ipad in to the order i want things in, like a social media folder, entertainment folder etc. i have the same apps on my iphone, so, if i restore an iphone, from an iphone backup, will the structure still be preserved?
It's interesting people are saying it works, and I'm glad. When I backed up everything to my PC, from my Iphone, then restored the backup to my Ipad Pro, all the apps got dumped helter-skelter into multiple pages. Not at all fun reorganizing.

Yes, even without iCloud

It will carry over, I remember when it used to never, but all of your folders will now.
I Agree with Mike

Not for me.
