Hi all,
I am writing my postgraduate thesis and receive frequent feedback from supervisors. I use Mac Pages and each time I have to submit new content to the supervisors I export the document in MS Word format.
They leave me their feedback in comments in the texts, the tracking is on. The chunks of text with comments are not announced, VoiceOver keeps announcing "Has comment" without reading the content of the text. For the comments themselves I can move to the table listing all the comments, still it is really confusing that I can not read the content of the text commented on. It only works if I keep holding Options+Shift and move with the right or left arrow, so the text is announced and at the same time highlighted. So, I can grasp the content yet I can proceed with the editing as any key press will remove the highlighted text.
Anyone can suggest a solution to this please? Is this a bug in VoiceOver or I am missing something?
Thanks.

"contains comment"
All I can do is corroborate the fact that I encounter this as well. Have you reported it to Apple?
I'm actually surprised that comments are retained from Word documents. The fact that command-option-K will allow you to read a comment under the cursor is good. Word will just insert a new one, and I haven't figured out how to jump into the current comment text. On Windows, "edit comment" is on the context menu. I have to back up and use a keyboard customization (Tools menu) to "go to next comment" in order to read the comment. However, at least you can read the commented text without having to select it. If you're doing a thesis, your university probably has an agreement to allow students to download office free of charge. I'm in Pages because of some reliability problems in Word, though.
