Hello all,
I am going to be switching from AT&T to T-Mobile and I had to order my iPhone7+. I am going to be receiving it this week. I am going to need to trade in my current AT&T iPhone 6+. What should I do to the 6+ before I trade it in to T-Mobile? I have performed an iCloud backup recently of my current phone. When I receive the new phone I think I am going to set it up as a new phone when I get it. What is the best way to get just my contacts back and not all the apps?
Thanks,
Greg Wocher

to get your contacts
hi i believe when you set up the phone as a new device and enable icloud if contacts, as part of icloud is on they will all come back.

Save your contacts
Hello,
If you’re getting a new phone, I would suggest setting it up as new. This way, all the unused apps will not be reinstalled.
While you still have your current phone, go to iCloud settings. There, I would only check contacts, keychain and website. Everything else, I would uncheck. Then once you get your new phone, set it up as new and go to icloud settings and check those three items. Your contacts, keychain and favorites will then be downloaded to your new phone.
You could also go to your local T Mobile store and using a PC, they can transfer all your stuff from your old phone to the new one.
HTH and good luck.
don't forget find my phone
Before you erase the old iPhone, be sure to go in to settings>iCloud and turn off find my phone. If you don't, the erased phone will still need to be authenticated with your apple ID and password the next time somebody tries to set it up. In fact, if you send it back to AT&T with find my phone still enabled, you will eventually get contacted by a very unhappy AT&T representative.
