Accessible restaurant menu app?

Can anyone tell me if there is an accessible restaurant menus app out there? This is half for my own use and half because I'm considering developing one if there might be a need.

Specifically, a menu app where you could look up a restaurant by name or by nearby restaurants and get their entire menu on the iOS device via VoiceOver.

Is this something folks other than me would find useful if it doesn't already exist?

Thanks!
Nick

Hi. Here in the UK I use The Hungry House and Just Eat apps. Both application are quite accessible with VoiceOver. Still there's more to be added to them. Maybe you can develop something with further useful features for the people with disabilities such as rating for how accessible the restaurant is, availability of braille menus etc.

One of the apps that I like to use is called All Access. It is very accessible. I am interested in another accessible app for restaurants especially to read a restaurant's menu before I go to eat.

A lot of times, Yelp will have menus available online. It'ss not always the most up-to-date option, but it usually will give you a pretty accurate depiction of the restaurant's features.

I use an app called open table. From my experience, I find that it tends to have menus for higher end restaurants such as Olive Garden, or Red Lobster, but it seems to do the job for me.

I have one called AllMenus. But I don't think they always keep menus updated. So sometimes I search for a particular restaurant or ask Siri to find it. I would like to have an app that keeps menus updated. If you decide to, I look forward to your app.

Coming soon we will have 50,000 accessible menus nationwide in the US optimized for folks who use screen readers, braille refreshable displays or low vision display settings. We update 99% of our menus daily and most have prices. We have large chains and independent restaurants in 12,000 US cities.

Our beta website is live. Yep, we are not an app. We are waiting for a few finishing touches before we do more testing. For an MVP sneak peek use the back door, our City Links page. We couldn't wait to share this huge collection of accessible menus, so we created this workaround for now!

If I know that a restaurant is on uber eats or door dash, I'll pull up their menu when I get there. I still ask if places have a braille menu, but an app or site could still be useful for those who don't know braille, or like me, find it's just a lot easier to skim something with speech. I'm a terribly slow decision maker when it comes to figuring out what I want when I eat out. lol

Hello,

This group was so great providing feedback and comments in August. Thank you!

We have revised a few things, improved the search and the current location functionality. We would love your feedback again. There is much more we want to do in future phases, but we think we are ready to launch Oct 1st. with a solid MVP. Can a few of you review the site again?

I would absolutely love one!!! There have been two apps, one called All Access and I can't remember the other one. They were great, but they don't always work, so I would DEFINITELY be interested.

Please check out what we are doing. If we don't have a city page for your area use the zip code search. Or just use the format a that the bottom of the "city" page to let know where you live. Then are can see if we have menus there. If so we will create a city page and share without everyone.

By the way if you know anyone who is deaf-blind our code works with braille refreshable displays. - thanks, Helen
