hi to all, is it just me, or is reading with kindle these days, using voiceover a less than intuitive experience? For example when i read using voiceover, words>e space out for example es pecially when i am enjoying a novel, and "not in part icular words are read, with spacing between the 2 halves of a word so reading be comes dis jointed. as you can see from that above paragraph, although i exagurated a little, the reading sounds choppy and difficult to comprehend. also, sometimes, at the end of pages, it is like the words are hyphenated, when really they are not. say if the novel said, William said that was very important, i may hear, william said that was very im, page turn sound, portant. any ideas? ise kindle on an ipad mini. i use kindle as buying from them so much cheaper.

I've noticed it too! This is not the Kindle app's problem. It's voiceover. You coubd midigate this if you have a braille display, you can use it to read the books & turn speech off. It drives me a bit insane to, but I'm sorry to tell you, there's really no solution because it's the way voiceover says some things.
You may also try changing voices. It was relly bad when I used Samantha Enhanced. However, when I switched to Ava Enhanced after getting ios 10, I've notied an improvement. You could try using a braille display with speech off, or you may also try changing voices.

I have also noticed this behavior, as well as several other decreases in accessibility throughout the app. I think it has something to do with the formatting of the book that makes VO say things strangely. I have paired a braille display to read along with VO, and there was some odd spacing on the display wherever VO said something weird. I have honestly resorted to Kindle on my PC with NVDA because it's a much better experience than the IOS app. There is also a way to read Kindle content in an app like Voice Dream Reader, which seems to not have the pronunciation issues, but it involves some... creative use of the Amazon web interface and... somewhat sketchy software.

I have had similar issues. This is a Kindle problem rather than a voice over one. Kindle seems to add spaces between word syllables, though it doesn't happen in all books and occurs in different places in a book if, for instance, the font is changed. For me, reading a book on a Braille display exaggerates the problem and so spoils the reading experience.

I am using kindle, and notice the same thing. This is not an amazon thing, nor is a VO thing, but I suspect it's just how the boo is laid out. Remember, sometimes they have to hyphenate words that are either on the end of the line, or at the end of the page. Like I said, this is, at least in my view, how the publisher has laid the E-text out. I'd say have someone who can read the text look at the book and see if they are seeing the same thing. I suspect that they will.

I am also having the same issues you have mentioned. I’ve managed to find a single way to make them less obvious. I’ve made the font as small as it can go and stuck with small page line spacing. This seems to work reasonably well but it is still an issue. I’ve mentioned this on the Amazon Kindle thread and mentioning it here as well.
