I have some audio that I'd like to transfer to my iPhone and play with Voice Dream Reader. I have nothing against iTunes, but I know Voice Dream Reader seems to be a better app for audio books. I also have a DAISY book with audio and no text. The narration is done vy a voice talent, and there is no text. I'm not sure how to transfer this stuff, and could use some guidance, If anyone can give me directions, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Hello. zip the book and load it into voice dream with the ituens sharing function. This is the quickest way. Now, go to add in voice dream once the book is added and uploaded and choose itunes, and choose the zipped file.

Take care.

Actually the quickest way to do what you want to do. Is zip the folder of the book, and if you have DropBox or Google Drive. Put the zip folders in there, wait for them to sync, and then open your DropBox/Google Drive app. Find your zip files, double tap and hold. Pop-up menu tap on open with, and select Voice Dream Reader.

Good luck.

I use the itunes method or transmit as well as I can grab from my own comp[uter from the internal network. This also works. then you click send to and voice dm reader from transmit itself. I love the itunes method to as it is faster over usb2.

Hi Tina. One of the most easiest ways I know of to do this is to use drop box. Even a free account will give you enough space to put a few books in it. At least with audio books you can zip them all into a file. Then you can open that file from drop box into voice dream reader. What you would do is to label the files so they are similar like track1.mp3 track2.mp3 so on and so on. I believe in settings you can sign into drop box there so you can easily move files into it. Let me know if you need a further explanation.

This thread helped a lot! I had a Daisy audio book loaded on an SD card and had been curious about the process of copying it onto Voice Dream Reader. Placing the folder in Dropbox, zipping it using the "compressed (zipped)" command, and subsequently unzipping it via file extraction proved very useful. I then went into VDR and selected the files to download by tapping "add," "Dropbox," and the "download" option pertaining to the files in the book's folder. Thanks for the awesome comments.

If you have a Mac, you can also use AirDrop to send files. Select your individual mp3 or zipped Daisy book, press VO shift M and go to the share submenu. From that menu, choose AirDrop. If VoiceOver doesn't list your device in the list, make sure it's unlocked and has bluetooth enabled. When it shows up, ust press VO space on your device and it will begin the transfer. AirDrop is pretty quick to transfer content which is nice. Once it's done, you'll get a menu listing all the supported apps that can open .mp3 or .zip files. Choose VoiceDream from the list and you're good to go.
