Description

Blindfold Color Crush is a fully accessible tile game that is inspired by Candy Crush and Bejeweled for both sighted and visually impaired people, designed for rapid audio play.

The objective of Blindfold Color Crush is to remove as many colored gems as possible, by swapping adjacent gems, to get 3 or more similar colored gems in a row. You can set the game to identify gems as color names, such as red or blue, or fruits, animals or numbers. Each time you complete a level by removing many gems, you move on to the next level.

Blindfold Color Crush comes with a Beginner Game, a Standard game and a Timed Trial game.

Blindfold Color Crush was suggested by several blind gamers who enjoyed Blindfold Tile Puzzle and Blindfold Dominos.

Thanks for finding the bug. The new version will be available in about a week.

I played a few more levels of Colour Crush earlier and noticed that Arsenal is labelled twice in the cricket level. Has anyone else noticed this?

By David Standen on Monday, May 23, 2016 - 20:18

When playing a standard game, I can only swap a gem which is adjacent to the gems I wish to match. In other versions, I could swap a gem from anywhere on the grid. The documentation states that in a standard game gems to be swapped aren't always going to be adjacent, and you need to search elsewhere on the grid. Am I misunderstanding something here? Also, in the soccer level, there are 2 gems by the same name: Arsenal.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Monday, May 23, 2016 - 20:18

This was actually a bug in the prior versions, where you could swap 2 gems anywhere. That's now a setting you can turn on and off.

By David Standen on Monday, May 23, 2016 - 20:18

Thanks heaps, Marty. I really appreciate your help with this. I have now changed the setting. Cheers, David.

I was wondering if there could be candy gems and jewls and diamonds. Also power ups would be fun and cool to have in this game too.

I am currently playing the English soccer teams level and found a bug. I previously reported this but mistakenly referred to this level as English cricket teams. 2 of the 7 gem names are labelled as "Arsenal". "Manchester United", "Real Madrid", "Barcelona", "A. C. Meylon" (excuse spelling) and "Bairn Munich" are the other gem names in this level. Has anyone else noticed this?

By David Standen on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 - 20:18

I was playing Blindfold Color Crush a few hours ago and noticed that the baseball teams bug I reported a few months ago has not been resolved. Only 6 gems are labelled for this level.

Normally, I buy games with a lot of immersive audio, whether it's monsters to fight as in Papa Sangre, or babies to care for, as in My Baby Sim.
But I liked the name Candy Crush, and although this isn't Candy Crush exactly, and it isn't Bejewelled either, I thought I'd check it out anyway. I have spatial difficulties, so puzzle type games with grids are kind of hard for me.
Still, I liked the name, or at least I liked the name of the game it was inspired by. Plus, I bought the candy packs to make it at least feel like Candy Crush.
As far as sound effects, I think if you're doing something with jewels, you'd want tinkly music box sounds along with the gem's name or something.
I know this is an accessible hybrid of two games. I wonder what the two games themselves are like: that is, Bejewelled and Candy Crush. esp. Candy Crush.

the two games are almost identical. I didn't uses tinkle sounds, since based on the gem packs that you buy, some are sound packs; others are word packs. For example, the candy and sports are word packs; Where would I use the tinkle sounds?

On another note - you mentioned you play baby sims. I was thinking of creating a pet care game, where you have to feed, walk and care for a puppy as it grows up. Does that sound interesting to you?

Hi. I find it interesting that instead of an accessible Candy Crush--I mean, we all know what candy is---we have a blindfold color crush. I've never seen color; I've never seen anything.
So when it comes to color, I'm as dumb as a horse's rear end.
Which colors should I try to match, and how do you swipe a particular color across the board to match it?
I did buy the candy packs, and am considering the mineral packs, but if this is a cross between Bejeweled and Candy Crush, I'd sure love to see a pack of actual gem names, such as pearl, sapphire, diamond, etc.
It's hard to imagine cats and dogs as gems. LOL
If I weren't going into debt for My Baby Sim, I'm sure I'd buy unlimited coins.
I haven't got the concept down, but this game is a lot more fun than taking care of a squawling brat. LOL But that's another subject.
Hi, Ornella, fancy meeting you here.

Hi, MsHolly.
You can purchase candy packs. There are 8 of them, and you get them all in one buy.
There's a minerals pack, which apparently contains rare gems, among other liquids and stuff, but at least so far, there isn't a pack of jewels on their own.

Sure, I'd be interested in an immersive pet game, as long as it was a total endorphin rush.
Like, for instance, a kitty cat, with purring and chirruping--which is a combination of meowing and purring--and maybe even the sound of a hand petting over fur.
I actually have a real cat.
I liked Baby Sim at first, but unlike you, the devs of that game don't seem to listen to suggestions, or even reply. I sure appreciate that you do, that you're active on the forum. Way to go.
The devs of My Baby Sim only appear to announce updates, and now that I've played that game, the kid isn't fun like they say.
Anyway, sorry to be off topic. But thanks for being on site to see what people think of the game.
I like it, though I haven't quite got the concept down of how to move the gems around.

From what I've read on wikipedia, this game is a lot more Bejeweled than Candy Crush. With Bejeweled it seems like you're matching 3 or more gems in a row to make them disappear and increase your score, as in Color Crush. Games like Candy Crush and Jelly Splash also do this, but add things like special pieces that do things like clear all pieces of a certain color and other stuff. There are also a ton of different levels that have different objectives. Jelly Splash has levels where you need to reach a certain score, get so many diamonds to drop down from the top, or clear away slime that blocks you from making moves, all in a decreasing number of moves the further you progress. It'd be neat to see stuff like this implemented into Color Crush, in addition to the regular game where you just try to add to your score.

This is one game though where unlimited coins is a good thing. I've read articles online where people have spent hundreds of dollars on Candy Crush without even realizing it.

While using the jewels as gems, such as topaz, diamond, sapphire, etc., I just got to wondering if there's a trick to swapping the right gems. Do you need to know what color each thing is, or is it a crap shoot? I'm actually on level 3, but I got here by luck, I think. LOL
Just wondered if there was a stragety to this, so that I get less bad swaps.

By David Standen on Friday, December 23, 2016 - 20:18

You need to have 3 gems in a row, either horizontally or vertically. For example, in row 1, columns 1, 2 and 3, you have diamond, topaz, diamond. In row 2, column 2, you have another diamond. Locate row 2, column 2, double tap on diamond, then swipe up to row 1, column 2 and double tap. Another suggestion: keep the "gems to be swapped" setting switched on until you are comfortable playing the game. In some instances I have been lucky enough to remove 4, or even 5 gems, in a row. Hope this helps.

By Brian Giles on Friday, December 23, 2016 - 20:18

Playing without the gem swappable sound is hard. lol I got an 8 combo move yesterday, though that was playing the beginner game, where you can't lose. Interesting that different people prefer using different gem packs. I find it easiest to just use colors since I used to have some sight so it makes the most sense to me. Another suggestion: how about one gesture to to tell you your score, and another one to tell you how many gems you've cleared for the level. I find it annoying to have to listen to all that extra information when I just want to know how many more gems I need to pass the level.

By David Standen on Friday, December 23, 2016 - 20:18

No, I'm not seeing the new gem packs either.

try again now. Just fixed it.

Ah. Working now. I thought maybe something was up with my phone earlier, so I deleted and reinstalled. That means I've lost all my upgrades Oops lol! The restore purchases button just says it can't find any.

By TamagotchiTune on Friday, December 23, 2016 - 20:18

Will there be power ups for this game?

By David Standen on Friday, December 23, 2016 - 20:18

Was able to purchase the new gem packs a couple of hours after my previous post.

I'll look into that the next time I add some more features

By Smiling Bookworm on Monday, January 23, 2017 - 20:18

This is one of my favorite Blindfold games and I have bought most of the packs and I'm about to get the 2 most recent packs. However, one of the packs I bought, the one called royals I don't like. Is there a way to remove that pack? I play using the random option so do not like when it comes up.

By Smiling Bookworm on Monday, January 23, 2017 - 20:18

In the Barnyard game you have an option that allows the player to choose your own animals to play with, would it be possible to make that an option in Color Crush? For example, I could pick 2 of my fruit boards, 2 of my candy boards, 1 of my animated movie boards and the body sounds board and they would be the only boards that played randomly for that game. I have so many packs and boards which are very much appreciated but sometimes I would just like to use a few in my random choice.
Thank you for this game and all of your other games.

It will be in the next version.

By Smiling Bookworm on Monday, January 23, 2017 - 20:18

Thank you, thank you for the new option. Unfortunately there is a bug. It only says one word when you try to play the game and I'm not sure of the word. Lol. I hope this can be fix soon because I'm ready to play using the wonderful new option.
Great work. Great games.

I went in to settings and changed the setting so I could select my own gym pack. Then I went in and made my choices. Next I tried to play a standard game but no matter which way I swiped all it would say is something that sounds like no or null. I then tried to play the beginner game. No luck same thing. I've tried it on my iPad and on my iPhone and I just tried again on my iPad before I wrote this message. Still the same thing.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Monday, January 23, 2017 - 20:18

that will be fixed in the next version, due out soon

By Smiling Bookworm on Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 20:18

Thank you for fixing the gym packs selections bug.
It works well now.
I really enjoy this game. Keep up the good work.

By vulcansummer on Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 20:18

When I play the game, when I swipe up, the control center keeps popping up. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Also, I get the concept of the game, but when the sound is played that says I can make a match, I can see know matches either right to left or up and down. Is this just me not truly understanding the game, or could the installation of the game been messed up in some way?

Also, has anyone done a podcast of this game?
Thanks so much for any help.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 20:18

In reply to by vulcansummer

You are touching too near the top or bottom of the phone. You can turn off control center within apps using the GENERAL settings in the iphone settings app.

By Brian Giles on Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 20:18

How about different objectives for levels, instead of just clearing a certain number of gems? The one thing I like about that Blindie Match game that was made to test Unity accessibility, has you clear a certain number of a certain color of gems before you can move on, which I think adds somem extra challenge to the game. On the other hand, that game doesn't have the time trial mode that Color Crush has, which can be difficult too.

Also, what about power ups that clear out a certain number of gems? I think a lot of mainstream match 3 games do that.

I just tried this game the other day. While I still haven't figured everything out, I've managed to play enough to use up all 15 coins. I'm curious what you get if you buy the unlimited coins option. How many levels are there to this game? Do I get more gem packs, or just unlimited coins? I'm just wondering how best to go about spending my money on this.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 20:18

In reply to by MelodicFate

It just keeps going and going.

By MelodicFate on Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 20:18

That's awesome it's endless, thank you! I just today saw you can play with a braille display, has anyone here tried this? If so, what is it like?

By arq on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 - 20:18

Hope the dev still checks in here. I really wanted an accessible candy crush, and found this. I think powerups would add so much to this game, which is already great by the way. I'm thinking bombs, or the lollypop hammer, or something similar.

By Use Small Words on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 - 20:18

hi.

Just wondering why it is that some gems can't be moved?

All gems can be swapped, as long as you pick the first and second, and it completes at least 3 in a row

I love this game as well. Who says you can't be a kid every day--not just a kid, but a kid on Christmas every day?
Every time I hear those woops and clicks, telling me I'm on a swappable gem, and the tinkly sounds when I've successfully cleared some gems.
I've found only one bug. There's a lovely category, bells, and it's sure to put stars in your eyes. It's quite pretty. But the swoops and clicks aren't there much, so one has more trouble clearing the board.
I've purchased many of the categories, or gem packs, as I love playing category games and match games.
I'd like to thank the devolopers for adding several of my suggestions as gem packs. Here are a few more I'd definitely purchase if they were available.
--Fairyland: fairy, elf, leprechaun, sprite, pixie, etc.
--Secondary colors, that is, colors that didn't make the first list of colors: pink, black, brown, grey, magenta, gold, periwinkle, etc.
Jewels: I noticed that among the precious and rare gemstones, pearl was conspicuously absent. Any chance of a secondary jewel gem pack? I know you got many of the familiar ones (ruby, sapphire, emerald) in the first Precious Stone gem pack.
Custom: Any chance a person could make their own gem packs, or would one need to be able to program the game in order to do that?
Anyway, I love this game. I haven't felt this young since I was ... well, that young. Each time I pick up this game in particular, it's my fifth birthday, it's Christmas morning again, and I'm the proverbial kid in a candy store.

Hi, Ms Holly.
There are 8 candy gem packs, and a gem pack called rare gemstones, which has jewels in it, like rubies, diamonds and sapphires. This particular gem pack is inside another one, though, and I forget which one. I think it's called "minerals, gemstones and more".
Anyway, if you click on 'buy or upgrade game', you can find all available packs, some of which include several packs within. Hope this helps.
Thea

By MissThea on Saturday, September 23, 2017 - 20:18

Hi, Marty. Thanks for the new Magical Creatures and Colors gem packs--the one with 8 packs of colors. Except when I tried to buy them, I got an error message: "payment transaction failed. Unknown product identifier." By the way, that occurs when I tried to buy the Fantasy collection with the Transformers, Iron Men, etc.
It wasn't my connection, as I was able to download two other packs without issue.
I'm looking forward to being able to download the new packs when that error message is gone.
The only gem packs I haven't had an interest in are the cars and sports ones. But that's only because those categories aren't my thing. I really like the other ones, the pretty ones, the sound effects, and all. It's just like when I was a little girl. I played with dolls and musical instruments and things that made pretty or fascinating sounds rather than toy guns or cars.

By MissThea on Saturday, September 23, 2017 - 20:18

Hi, Marty. I decided to get the sports and vehicle sounds after all, just because I love this game. The only gem packs I don't have are the ones which have that error message "payment transaction failed. Unknown Product identifier."
Soon as that bug is fixed, I'll have all categories.
Anyone on forum have all categories, or am I the only fanatic? LOL
