I was able to use this app successfully! The only thing that seems not to work is being able to rate the classes. But I was able to sign up through Facebook, pick a plan… The seven day free trial and take a few classes once you find the class you want at the bottom right corner there is a start class button and then it counts down three, two and then The music and the trainer will start simultaneously I can't remember what each tab is along the bottom but the first one is something like a home tap which is your main screen I forget what the second and third ones are and the fourth one is something like Moore or something to that effect. But they are easily figured out there's really no guesswork involved I just can't remember off the top of my head right now. It says that this app was posted December 26. Since that time this app has become accessible. This is just what I have been looking for and they have everything! I'm using an iPhone 7 with the latest version of iOS. I would really encourage the applevis community to give this app a Nother shot it really does work! :-)

hi all, i had an e-mail for today only at the time of writing for a 30 day subscription to aaptiv. i made an account but in the app with my iphone, to join it seems it links to your apple id, and only gives me a 7 day trial. how please, do i log in to the aaptiv account i have just created and start the classes? i see no log-in option. thanks

Hi,
I'v been using this on my iPhone 6s with vo for around 3 1/2 weeks. We've got a spin bike in the house and it's genuinly improved my cardio fitness, helped me lose a good bit of weight so far and more importantly keeps me genuinly motivated. The trainers are very engaging, and I use it for spin calsses, yoga, meditation, and strength training.
Even on a day that I'm tired from work and don't get out of the house I can still go to the roof space, hop on the bike and meet my daily exercise and move goals in the Health app.
I use this with my faceBook account and just relabelled the tabs at the bottom with vo by holding down two fingers on the element after double tapping with the same two fingers.
Like someone else said the rating portion isn't accessible, but honestly everything else is. Even adding things to your favourites is accessible. It might be an unlabelled button, but once you tap it it says selected and you can relabel anything you come across that isn't clear to you using the method I outlined above.
give this app a will and contact the developers as it's an absolute smasher for visually Impaired folks wanting a solid workout experience.

Barry

Hi, I know it's been a while but I was wondering if you had gotten the app to work? I did my seven day free trial first and then they sent me an email for a 30 day free trial. There was one part of the login process where I had to turn off voiceover and have someone press the button for me but that was only with the 30 day free trial you can link apptiv to your Apple ID or straight to your credit card.

Hello.

I've written to the developers and hope they get back to me.

This app is great for those of us who want to get fit or keep fit.

By gailisaiah on Sunday, June 24, 2018 - 02:13

I am so looking forward to trying this. Thanks, Khalfan, for the podcast demonstration!

By Rocker on Sunday, June 24, 2018 - 02:13

The link provided in this review takes me to the App Store in the united kingdom! Obviously, I am an able to download the application! Very disappointed!

By gailisaiah on Sunday, June 24, 2018 - 02:13

Hi Rocker,
I went to the App store and in to the Search tab. Then typed the name of the app (Aaptiv) and it came up at the top of the list. I was able to sign up for a 30-day free trial. So far, the only thing I couldn't do is save my chosen treadmill workout to favorites. But all the samples I've played were great. In the morning, I'll give it a try. I've been looking for an app like this for quite some time.

By Rocker on Sunday, June 24, 2018 - 02:13

Does not show up in a search in the Canadian App Store! I shall contact The developer to see if they can help! I agree with you Gail, this is something I have been looking for for ages! Very stoked! help

By Karok on Sunday, June 24, 2018 - 02:13

i want this too but it's not now not in the uk?

By Ekaj on Sunday, June 24, 2018 - 02:13

I was perusing the Health app on my iPhone this morning, and saw this app mentioned. I might try it out at some point, but the on-board Health app seems pretty awesome. Very accessible too.

By Rocker on Sunday, June 24, 2018 - 02:13

For a lark, I hit the provided App Store link then hit the following after this message: The item you've requested is not currently available in the Canadian Store, but it is available in the U.K. Store. Tap Change Store to view this item. Afterwards, I find out that the app is not in the UK store! I emailed the developer but they are likely working out because they have not got back to me and it’s been over a day! Epic fail developer epic fail reviewer! You should be checking the small details out before doing a podcast!

By Rocker on Sunday, June 24, 2018 - 02:13

Received a response as follows:
Thanks for reaching out and for your feedback. Aaptiv is only available in the U.S. App Store and cannot be accessed internationally at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience. We plan to expand into international markets in the future, and we’ll be sure to let you know when Aaptiv is available in your country.

By Peter Holdstock on Sunday, June 24, 2018 - 02:13

I’m so disappointed this isn’t available in the UK. I stupidly spent ages looking for it on the App Store before thinking to look atApplevis.

By thebigt on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 - 02:13

I am lad the app is more accessible now than when i reviewed it. To be honest, i lost patience with it so perhaps this was why i didn’t find it as accessible as it is now. I am unsure why it has been removed from the UK app store as when i reviewed it it was there.

Hi Aaptive’s the fitness app I’ve Ben looking for

By Ahmed on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

One thing that I should mention when working out using Aapptiv is that Aapptiv’s professional trainers are not joking when they say coming up we have walking lunges they give you only 30 seconds to complete The exercises this means you have to be very quick

By gailisaiah on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

Hi all: I really like this app! The only thing was, after the free trial, a couple of years ago, it costs around $99 per year.

By gailisaiah on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

In reply to by gailisaiah

I re-downloaded Aaptiv and it costs $50 per year which is about $4 per month.

By KE7ZUM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

Since I use my watch, how can I track my progress? I'm a bit confused how it will track progress if I'm not waring my phone.

I don’t think your Apple Watch syncs up with this app. I would also like some thing that I can use along with my Apple Watch so this app is not quite for me

By Cliff on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

I started using this app a week ago, and it has indeed Apple Watch integration. Aaptive has it's own Apple Watch app, that will launch automatically on the watch and track your workout once the workout is started from the iOS app, given that you've granted the right permissions to sync with health kit.
It tracks cals and heart rate and it even has a heart zone number at the top. This far the watch app seems to be very accessible :)

By Ahmed on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

Their are real human trainers that will walk you through the movements for each exercise

By KE7ZUM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

OH good, yeah I don't want to hurt myself as I am slightly injured already for what ever reason. I might try this app out.

By gailisaiah on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

In reply to by Ahmed

I re-downloaded this app to give it another try. It's a paid app but so worth it! Totally accessible with VO and I highly recommend it! I really like the trainers and you can choose your own type of music for your workouts.

By gailisaiah on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

I think the accessibility rating should be updated. This app is totally VO accessible and easy to use!

I completely agree the Accessability rating for this app should be updated in order to reflect the recent accessibility improvements the developer made to the app

By Ahmed on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

Aapptive’s trainers are very energetic and serious as well

By KE7ZUM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

It's too bad that I have to choose yearly. I cannot, or could not choose monthly. Well I'll try this free fro a week and see how it goes. I plan on doing the running thing, except I power walk due to an accident I had. So hopefully I can choose that at some point.

When browsing threw Aapptivs different subscription plans which are priced as follows monthly 14$.99 gives you access to aapptivs classes on a monthly basis annual 99$.99 US app store price gives you access to Aapptiv’s library of classes a note to new and current/former users when choosing between the different trainers Aapptiv’s trainer list is extensive which is why it’s very important to choose a trainer that suits you

By KE7ZUM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 - 02:13

Actually it was about 24 dollars here yearly, but there was a sale which I took, otherwise it would have been 45 a year. Those prices are not matching what I"m seeing.

By Ahmed on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 02:13

I also want to point out for anyone who wants to learn more about Aapptiv you can join the official Aapptiv members group on Facebook link to join https://www.facebook.com /groups/1578271402432661/

By KE7ZUM on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 02:13

That group link does not work. I can't find the button to join the group, even searching for the app name is not working over here. Did they take the group down?

By Ahmed on Saturday, July 24, 2021 - 02:13

Aapptiv‘s trainers are also empathetic which I appreciate

By Katrine on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 02:13

This entry really should be updated! I always check Applevis before downloading a new app so as not to waste time and I nearly didn't download this app due to its description and rating. It was only because I saw a blog post on Google where someone explained how to use it with VO that I gave it a try. The app is in fact very accessible and really great!

By thebigt on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 02:13

Hi all.

It has been a while since i have used this app. Is the app fully accessible now? If so, i will update the directory straight away. Apologies for not checking back here regularly.

This app is completely VoiceOver accessible and to be honest I prefer Aapptiv over the other dozen of workout apps out their because most of the workout apps have very complex UI’S to make matters worse Accessability is an after thought this is why I like Aapptiv because your given a structured workout calendar to follow unlike say the NTC workout app where it’s UI is challenging to navigate to add to that your going to spend a good chunk of your time finding workouts than you schedule it the worst part is the cues the Nike trainers use are visual

By gailisaiah on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 02:13

Very accessible and getting better all the time. So worth the expense. I recommend that you download a workout before you save it. Because one of the areas that's not accessible is deleting a saved workout. There is a button at the bottom of the ones you just download that says, "Remove this workout from my downloads". But there's nothing like that in your saved workouts. Other than that, though, great App. Personal note, my favorite trainer is Ackeem Emmons.

By Katrine on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 02:13

In reply to by gailisaiah

You actually can remove a saved workout if you need to, even though removing a download is easier. But I like the lists. Open the workout you want to remove and tab Save to list, then deselect the list that is selected and the workout is removed. Personal note: My favourite trainer is John!

By WellF on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 02:13

I may keep it beyond the 7 day trial. I like that it has real human voices guiding you, but the app itself can improve to be more compatible with voiceover.

By gailisaiah on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 02:13

Thanks for your help with deleting. I'll give this a try. Yes. I like John too!

By gailisaiah on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 02:13

Hi, Still trying to remove some workouts. How do you deselect ? Thanks.

By Ahmed on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 02:13

My favorite trainers are Akeem Emens Amanda B Casey, Jade Jamie Amanda R and Mary O

Hi, sorry, I didn't see you had replied! You deselect the same way you select, just double tab. If you had saved a workout to Favourites, it'll say, Favourites selected. When you double tap, favourites is no longer selected and the workout is removed. But you have to do that from the screen of the individual workout. I hope this helps!

By gailisaiah on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 02:13

Thanks so much for the tips on removing workouts. Somehow, I had the same workout in two places.

By Ahmed on Thursday, March 24, 2022 - 02:13

One thing that is worth mentioning is the fact that you can tag the trainers right from the team tab of the Aapptive app sometimes they will read your comment and respond other times the community will respond
