Within the last several months, TheSocialRadio tweet reading app has basically become worthless. It either keeps crashing or keeps saying "over capacity" when it does halfway work.

So, does anyone know of nay accessible alternatives to this app?

this is not the social radio, but it will read out loud your messages. The hands-free, voice command, function doesn't work. However, you can press the buttons and still get the app to do its stuff.

Great app suggestion. However, it seems not to have the capacity to read Lists, which is something I'd really like in an app like this. Any other suggestions from you or anyone else?

Also, there seems to be no way to change the speed of speech and the voice is actually a little annoying, but, for me, even these would be secondary to being able to read Lists.

Siri can now read your Twitter! Use Social Speaker to listen to Tweets when you can't look at your iPhone or iPad.

Usage: Open the app and select a Twitter account. Then select your timeline, mentions, favorites or a list. Then just say "Hey Siri. Read my Social Speaker messages." Siri will read up to 50 of the most recent Tweets.

REPLIES: When Siri asks "Would you like to reply?", say "Yes." This will save the Tweets in the "Reply List". Open the app later (i.e., when you can use your hands again), and you will see all Tweets you marked for reply. You can like or share each Tweet, or swipe left to remove them from the list.

If Siri says "You have no messages on Social Speaker.", just say "Hey Siri. Goodbye" to go back to the app. New Tweets will be soon be retrieved. Then you can repeat "Hey Siri. Read my Social Speaker messages."

Social Speaker will check for new Tweets as follows:

- Timeline: every 60 seconds.
- Mentions and Favorites: every 15 seconds.
- Lists: every 10 seconds.

The app will also check while in the background and send a notification.

there's only one button not labeled correctly. That's the button to choose your account.

This actually sounds really awesome!

However, will I be able easily to find the button to select an account even though it is not properly labeled?

Also, have you or anyone else had a chance to test this out and see how well it actually works?

Still open to further suggestions, of course. If I have to deal with going through Siri, of course, that's fine, but an even better option would be to have tweets read directly in-app.

I have not tried replying to any of the comments yet. However, the reading of messages seems to work OK. The button is just unlabeled but easy to find.
just below the choose account label is out of button on which voiceover says button. That's the choose the account button and settings.

I use multiple Twitter accounts, so, do you or does anyone know whether each account would be displayed and read properly by VoiceOver? For those with just one account, is it read aloud by VoiceOver/properly labeled? Or, is it just a "select account" button that is the only thing that is not properly labeled?

OK, just tried out Social Speaker. A few things I discovered about it, though, that I don't like much: once it reaches the end of tweets it collected when I asked it to read tweets, it seems (?) to just stop and doesn't read anymore until I have to re-activated it again. Also, it doesn't always pick up on when there are new tweets.

Any work-arounds for any of this?

Or, any toher accessible apps like TheSocialReadio?
