Hello everyone,
I have a BraillePen12 that I use regularly with my iOS devices. Today, though, I cannot get the unit to power on after checking the battery this morning. I'm running out of ideas on how to fix the issue; I cannot reset the device, because it has to be on in order to do that. I've looked through every manual and other web site, And I don't know where to turn to next. I was wondering if there was anything that I could have possibly done with my iPhone to cause the unit to not power on, when I know it has a full battery? Is there anything that I can do to fix this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I don't have a Braille Pen 12 and don't know your exact symptoms, but one guess is that the battery could be the problem. Just because you fully charged it and think the battery is charged doesn't mean the battery really is charged and working. These batteries do have a limited lifetime and will only handle a certain number of recharges.

You should check with the manufacturer and/or see if a battery replacement solves the problem.

That is true. I'm not really sure what else I can do at this point. I'm pretty sure that something is fried inside of the device, because I've tried everything that I have found to try, and nothing I've tried has worked yet. I've relocated the charger, thinking that maybe the outlet was just bad, but it's the same deal. I hate to send it off for repairs since school has just started and that's what I bought the braille display for, but the longer I wait, the less time I'm able to use it. Whatever way one looks at it, it's bad. Thanks for the tip. I emailed the company and they're supposed to get me in touch with an authorized dealer.

I have one of these. It's sort of a janky device but it's so cheap though. That being said, sometimes I can't get mine to turn on until I really make sure none of the keys are stuck down. I bought mine used, and it's done this the whole time I've owned it. The keys will feel pretty much normal, until I pay very close attention to the tops of the keys and how level they are with each other. When I notice that even part of one of the keys isn't quite level with the other, I try to pry that key up a little until it's completely up, then try the key command again. This could be an issue specific to my device, but in case it was a trend among BraillePens, I thought I would mention it. I hope you can get it fixed soon, it's a bummer to have a broken Braille display.

I've noticed the same thing with mine, and I also bought my BraillePen12 used as well. I've only had it now for about three weeks, but in that time I've noticed the very same thing that you have told me about with your keys sticking. It is a cheap little device, but it's all Ive got at the moment. I did check to make sure that the keys were level, and they were. It still isn't turning on. I wish I could tell you otherwise.

Got 2 new units and neither will connect with iPad running iOS 10.2.
Wondering if they have the same problem as focus 14 with 10.2?
It says it's paired, but connect button just has it saying can't connect (I can't hear well enough to get the exact message).
Does anybody know the pairing code so I am for sure doing this right? Manual does not say!
