Any ideas on Recording Video and Audio

Hello Apple Vis,
I had a question to ask. I am wanting to record some videos that kind of require both the screen video, and the system audio. Does anyone has any suggestions, ideas, or solutions as far as what to use for this?
I have used Quick time, and I have tried the Sound Flower driver also. The issue I kept running into was when I chose Sound Flower. I could not tell what I was clicking on as the sound output was changed. Therefore not allowing me to see what i am clicking on.
So are there any Accessible alternatives? Again, I need to be able to record both the screen, and the built in system audio. not much my voice, but the system audio.
Thanks

I use screen flow. It's expensive but very much worth it.

Take care.

+1 to ScreenFlow - works perfectly for capturing system audio and visual display.

OK, I usually use quick time, but what is this screen flow? I haven't looked into it.

Basically it isa simi professional way of capturing the mac display and your sound card and computer output. I'd show you guys a sample but that woudl involve linking to my book which I'm not aloud to do here. I'll just link to tffppodcast.com/books and you can view the one on sierra, the video package. yOu will hear an example in one of the vids.

OBS studio and OBS classic are great free open-source alternatives to the expensive options previously listed. While geared towards games, they still can be used for other things. They are very usable on windows with NVDA. I have not tried them on my new Mac. I plan to see how well it works on Mac in the next few days. You can learn more on the website: https://obsproject.com hope this helps

Hi,
I tryed it, but it's accessible, but not so. The video is in FLV format, and it doesn't have any pop-up buttons. I recommend to use quick time.

Note that OBS classic is only for windows. You will need to grab studio if you want it on Mac. I find on the surface its rather accessible. I don't know if the previous poster used an older version, but its quite accessible. There are many settings to change the output. You can out put in mp4 plus a few other options. You may need some help trying to get a piece of text or your window capture up and visible, but I could be wrong. haven't gotten that far into obs yet.

OBS is accessible but the menues in the sources list don't read at all. Here is the feedback I wrote to the developers. They seem quite reseptive now that I bought it to their attention.

The following is some feedback on OBS studio from an accessibility point of view

I use voiceover on a mac running osx sierra. Voiceover can be accessed with command plus f5. This is a screen reader that helps the visually impaired get around.

1. unlabeled buttons and sliders. For example the one next to the audio. This needs to be looked into. I need to know what the slider does with out doing many tests first.
2. The ability to add a input or what not to a scene is not possible. I hit the ad button, I hear that OBS has a new window but I cannot find it anywhere.. It appears voiceover is not reacting to the element when I press control option space to press the buttons. There are more of these, like for example the add button properties button. I hit the button but I can't see the properties so I can add what ever it is I need to add.
In the case of the sources button when you click add, you can get to the window by hitting control, option, f1 twice and arrowing down to OBS and right arrow, then down to the sources window. But the menu you get does not read. I can't tell what I'm doing when I up or down arrow.

I encourage your team to test this app with voiceover to see if there is anything I'm missing.

Take care to all.

Hi, May you guys send me the links to the programs.
I am mainly wanting to use it for game play, but also record some VoiceOver lessons. My high school used mac, and I was the first blind student who had a mac book. After graduating a couple of years ago. I told them if they needed lessons or help on VoiceOver let me know. So I just figured I would make some lessons on Using VoiceOver.
