Checking dictated messages before sending

Hey everyone, wondering if any Apple Watch users can help me out.

I've used the dictation feature to send messages and, generally, it works well. However, I can't seem to find a way of checking the dictated text before I send it, using Voice Over.

When composing a message, I double-tap the "Dictate" button, wait for the taptic feedback and start dictating. After I've finished speaking, I attempt to have Voice Over read back the text, using the left and right one-finger swipe. However, all I hear are the Voice Over clicks. Double-tapping just sends the message, without offering me the chance to check it first. The only exception is in the case of an iMessage, where I can select to send as audio or text.

Has anyone found a workaround or solution for this?
