In this podcast, Thomas Domville introduces us to NOAA Weather International, a free iOS app that offers real-time 7-day hyperlocal point weather forecasts and current weather conditions for worldwide locations from NOAA NWS and forecast.io (creators of DarkSky) based on your current location or any location in the world.

great podcast
Thanks Mr. Mouse for the informative podcast. I cannot wait to try out Weather Gods.
I put this app on my system & really didn't have a grasp on how to work it. Now, I have customized my alerts! While I'd like the speed, polygon location accurate weather, & accessibility of a paied app souch as Weather Gods, I'm also a penny pincher/cheap skate! I'm really hessitant to put money down for paid apps unless I know with a very high percentage that they'll be accessible. Especially when it's money you can't get back in a refund. I like Forecast Now too, but it doesn't have alerts & the ads are in-your-face. This one, it's not so bad especially if you swipe as I do.
So alb in all, thank you!
Definitely international
Hi! After listening to the podcast about NOAA Weather International last night, I downloaded the app this morning from the French App Store. I haven't done much with it yet, other than letting it give me the weather for my current location, but it does that in a nice accessible way, and I've added the place I live to my favourites just in case I want to know the weather there when I'm somewhere else; As for the alerts, I left the alert types selected as they were by default, but have had no alerts yet: France obviously doesn't have the same alert system as the USA, but it'll be interesting to see if any of the alerts actually work on this side of the pond<. My one little gripe with NOAA Weather international is that it automatically opens on the map when I open the app, but thankfully it's easy to locate the Forecast tab, which, as I say, is very accessible: that small annoyance doesn't stop me using the app, and I like it a lot.
Of course international.
Hello guys, I just wanted to make sure as this weather app works fine for looking at the forecast and things. But I am not sure about the notifications whether it is working or not. Could someone clear my doubt?
Raaj.
International alerts
Hi,
I am the author of NOAA Weather International and appreciate the review! The app uses Dark Sky for all locations outside the US. Unfortunately, they supply a field for weather alerts in their data but I have never actually seen it populated, so as far as I can tell, alerts do not work for international locations. Sorry for the confusion.
I will continue working on improving VoiceOver functionality in the app, including making the Today widget usable. I welcome any feedback!

comparison question
I already have paid for, and use, the NOAA Weather Radio app. How does this app compare as far as features are concerned? I also have Weather Gods. What can I get from this app that I cannot get from the other two? Thanks.
Carlos, the wigit
Hi, Carlos, I listened to and enjoyed Thomas's podcast. I downloaded the app and followed along. I didn't see anything about the wigit it skipped to the next control. Does the fact that I have an iPhone 6S and not a 7 make any difference? I know Thomas has a 7 which is why I ask the question.
thank You! I really like this app!
Hi, I'm not sure which widget
Hi, I'm not sure which widget you're referring to. The Today widget? Features should be the same on all iPhones. You can email me at pandamoniumsoftware@gmail.com and I can try to help.
