Watch OS Battery Glitch

watchOS and Apple Watch Apps

I thought I would post this in the hopes that maybe others are also encountering this glitch. I've recently purchased an Apple Watch Series 1 and am loving it more and more. I have accepted that this is really an expensive toy, one which I have found some uses for it.

Now I have encountered an issue with regards to the OS reading the correct battery level. Now I am sure that most people have put the battery level as a complication on most of their watch faces, but when I check the battery on the watch face complication, mine currently says that my battery is at 87%, but when I open the control centre and go to the battery level, it reads it at 100%. Obviously something is a bit off and it has been this way since the very beginning. Now since then I have formatted and reset the watch and still the glitch exists. Now with many settings configured in a way to conserve battery power, I do find my battery lasting very long and, on most nights, it being at close to 75% by the time I go to bed, which I find is pretty good in my book.

So back to my original question, has anyone else encountered this odd glitch when reading the battery level from the watch complication and the control centre. Thanks and have a wonderful day!

I never heard of this glitch before, and I don't have Apple Watch yet. Probably the weird glitch might come when you charge your Apple Watch more frequently, or the thing was a bug.
Hopefully this will be resolved by restarting your Apple Watch or if the next update for watchOS gets released

Hi I had encounter on this. I had reporded to apple eccessibility team about this.
right know the way to check the battery on Apple Wotch go to the wigit screen, and there onder battery heding find the accurate the battery pressentage. I hope that apple will fix this in the next version of Wotch OS.

Glad to hear I am not the only one encountering this odd behavior. When you say to check the battery widget, do you mean the battery complication on the watch face?

I too have written to Apple Accessibility in the hopes that it is something that can be fixed with an update. I know in my original post I mentioned the battery levels from the watch face and from the control centre, the levels do drop over time in both areas, it is just that the levels are never the same. I can understand if there is a difference of a percent or two, but to have that major of a difference seems to make me think that either the complication on the watch face or the the one in the control centre are not getting a good read of the battery. I have reset the watch, restart it from time to time and still encounter this odd behavior. Anyways, we'll just have to wait and see what Apple says. Thanks!

I don't think that this is a glitch. When I look at the battery persentage, on the watch face, it says for instance, 50percent, that is, in the watch complication. but when I go to the control centre, it says 80percent, I think that this is not a glytch, it is just saying the last percentage when you checked, like, the last time i checked, it was at 80percent.

I got a Series 2 42mm and noticed it straight away. After charging all night it would show the level before charging. I found after a while of wearing it the watch shows the correct charge but never first thing in the morning. I had forgotten to report it to Apple but shall do so now.

I got a Apple Watch series 2 last week and experience this same bug even on Watch OS3.2.
I haven't asked a sighted person to verify yet whether this is a bug in the OS or only a Voiceover bug.

I did, a while ago, send some feedback to Apple regarding this issue and I believe that they had said that it was a glitch and that they were going to forward my feedback to the appropriate team. I don't really look at the battery level in the Control Center anymore, just refer to the Battery complication instead, as that is the one that is the same level as the one in the Battery widget on my iPhone.

I have this glitch too. What settings do you have configured to be able to preserve battery?

You have a feture but, itt's not accessible to VoiceOver users. because that, when this feture is acctive VoiceOver can't run in Wotch OS. When battery is low the batton will show to you. I don't know how it's translated in english but try to see which batton do you get when your battery is reach to be low. To me i see saveing energy.

Hi Sabrina, one of the first things I change is lower the brightness to as low as it can go. Being completely blind, there is no point in having the brightness up. I've also disabled the "Wake on Wrist Raise" feature and simply tap once to have it speak. I also disable most notifications and only have the ones I want to see appear. I also enable the "Reduce Motion" and "Reduce Transparency" settings. I find that alot of these settings help in some way to extend my battery even longer. HTH!
