Other Comments

The developer has done a great job in making this very accessible to use. Note that you can double tap and hold on an article to Share by several methods. It is a very straightforward app to use. Also, to let you know is that you can change the different type of sources to be displayed can be set via the iPhone Settings -> Breaking News.

Sadly, the latest version of this app has broke some of the Voice Over accessibility. When you open the app up you will see nothing when flicking left or right. There are many clicking sound and no title of the news. I've seen this kind of problems before with other apps. I believe it has something to do with the ads located at the bottom of the screen. These are known issues that causes it to fail to see things on the page.

If you double tap on any of the clicks. You will be able to open the news up and see the article. At this point you can navigate around a bit. You will now see in spots in areas where we once only had to flick one to get to the next article is now having us to flick twice to actually to see the next article.

So hopefully the devs will be made aware of this problem. One can hope that they may take a look at this and fix it.

In the latest version of this app, the content automatically refreshes every 60 seconds or so when looking at the main page. I imagine this is distracting for speech users, but it really is annoying to braille users. Not sure if the content is refreshing, or if it's just the iAdds.

Breaking News version 7.1.2 is now available and includes an option to remove advertising:

* Bug Fix
* Option to remove Ads"

In the Version under the app description, it says this is Version 92.1.0. Is that really right? Sorry if that seems rude as I don't mean it to.

I have just downloaded the app and even paid to have the ads removed. The only glitch I have found is an extremely minor one that I can easily remedy. I have noticed that the Settings button is not labeled properly, it reads as "Gear74". Don't know why it's not labeled as the rest of the app seems perfectly accessible. Like I said, this issue can easily be remedied as I simply re-labeled the button myself.

I am recommending this app. I like that you can choose which news sources you want to hear from. The only thing still is that one button that says Gear 74 takes you to settings. Changed the label's name. Now it's perfect!

I too am loving this app more and more, but I do wish that some Canadian sources were added to the mix though.

Either then that, it's a great source for news.

A friend introduced me to this app last week. Yesterday, I turned off cellular data for breaking news so it wouldn't eat threw my two gigs of data. I have several news sources checked, leading to the same story being brought to my attention more than once. While I was out yesterday afternoon, I found that I still got breaking news alerts, even though I have cellular data turned off for this app. Is that a glitch or a feature?

Hi, I hadn't noticed it before but in version 129.6 and iOS 10.3.3 VoiceOver is now speaking the source of a breaking news alert when this app pushes one out. I hadn't noted this before but am glad for it and wrote the developer to express gratitude for such.

I thought this news app was no longer working. I thought it was defunct as of the beginning of this year. Am I confusing it with another news app?
