Is anyone having problems with Roger app? The latest update on my iPod 6th GEN is really killing my battery. The iPod get really hot when I'm using the app. I noticed this behavior a couple days ago. Earlier tonight my batter got down to 19 percent.

Yep it's a horrible bug, the devs knows about it though. Says a new fix will be coming out soon. Not sure when as I'm sure they have to allow Apple to ok it.
Here is 2 tweets from the official Twitter account:
Roger: We are aware of the battery issues with the latest update and working to release a fix ASAP. Thank you for your reports! 1 day ago from TweetDeck2 of 202
Roger: Great news everyone: battery issue discovered and fixed, update on the way! 1 day ago from Twitter Web Client1 of 202

I experienced this bug yesterday, and it was actually kind-a scary; my phone went from fully charged to 13 percent battery in less than 45 minutes. Also, the phone got very warm. So, until I know this is fixed, I'm staying away from Roger; need to nurse my poor little iphone 5S along until I can get the 7 plus, and things like that Roger bug won't help. It's frightening that a bug in an app can do something this serious, and I really hope the fix is made available soon.

Definitely having this problem. There's problem some very intense CPU stuff going on or something. The bug would've been caught much sooner if the dev team had not disbanded the beta team. they also don't seem to be listening to user feedback. Not very good for them.

Thanks guys. Glad its not me. My friend in TN is having this problem too. I hope the Roger team rock and roll and fix this soon. I don't wnat to blow up my iPod. It will be a year on DEC. 7 that I got it.

I am also experiencing the same issue with my iPhone 6. Sometimes, when tapping the microphone button, you don't hear the tones. I know others over here who are experiencing the same issue. I'm glad the battery issue has been resolved, and hope the same for the microphone issue.

Hi, yes, it's a bugg. I emailed the devs and they said an update will be out. until then, I'm holding off on using roger until the fix is out. I'm still keeping it on my phone, I just will not use it for now until the bugg is gone.

Hello,

If you really want or need to use the app, can’t you just plug in your device while you use it? I’m sure the update will be out soon but for now, it’s a workaround.

HTH and good luck.

I think plugging it in would make it worse because the app makes the phone run hot in the first place, and the phone gets warm anyways while it is charging so plugging it in could cause the phone to overheat and shut down. Just my thoughts.

They already knwo about it and have released an update to the app store. Now we'll see if apple approves it before 20 years have passed lol!

What annoys me the most is that Roger is draining my battery even when I'm not using the app. The app is closed and notifications are disabled, yet, going into settings and battery shows that roger has used 84% of my battery in the past 24 hours. So I really hope they address whatever it is that roger seems to be doing in the background even though it isn't listed in the app switcher.

It would help if they'd kept their beta team around too. That, and actually, you know, listen to feedback from users. Anyone ever heard of that concept? anyone

anyone?

Last checked they moved features over to the appstore instead of testflite, the devs originally used for betas.

I tried to use Roger when charging the phone, Roger is the only app that managed to make the battery power go down while it was supposed to be charging

Hello Everyone,

Since upgrading to the iPhone 7 two weeks ago, I have not re-installed Roger. Battery drain has been an issue since I began using it, and I've decided to forego that issue by keeping it off my new iPhone. It's really too bad, though, because it is a communication avenue I miss.

As I stated they know and have fixed the battery issue, look at their twitter for more information. It's something to do with iOs 10. Also I don't think are not any longer to circumvent the auto refresh settings which I have off for roger. Be patient guys. They respond better by email. I should know, I submit about 5-10 page bug reports to them all the time that ay. I think they officially hate me now. Lol!

Remember when Roger first came out? They were so eager to hear our comments and suggestions, and everything was going great. but somewhere along the line things went fubar. Taking away the beta team, and pushing everything to the app store doesn't sound like a good way to do it especially given this latest battery issue. I'm one of the very few people not experiencing it, but that doesn't mean that others aren't either. Also, in the latest version they insist that you add the new Roger Widget in iOS 10, and move it to the top. If you don't, the app will bug you every single time you launch it. What if I don't want to? I don't ever make use of Widgets, so I feel like they're strong-arming people a bit here. It's like they have a plan going on and if you don't follow their directions to the letter, they remind you every time the app is launched. whatever happened to preferences? Roger is still a supurb app and once the update is released i'll continue to use it. But if I had 2 suggestions for the Roger team, please guys, please bring back the beta team so people can make Roger the very best app it can possibly be. Also, For us who don't make use of Widgets, please don't remind us to add it and move it to the top every time we open the app? If you introduce a new feature, that's extremely cool, but I feel like some of these ideas are almost being forced on us. If we don't find a particular feature useful, we shouldn't be reminded that it's available every time we launch the app. it's like that kid in class that knows the answer to a question and goes wild so the teacher will notice him. If people want to use a particular feature they will if it sounds like a good idea. I hope this may help everyone in the future.

Hi. This morning, my battery went from 19% to eight, but i didn't mean as i try to kill the batty almost before charging. Of course, I understand it's an issue but I'm glad they fixed it. As for the widgit thing, they recognized it and this update will stop that for sure. Supposedly, anyway. I just click OK and go on with my life, so it doesn't bug me that much. I'd rather have an option in voice over to shut up that "Actions available," because if I turn off all the junk stuff, that should go too. I already knwo how to double tap to open, so I feel like if I want the hints off, that should go too. sorry to change topics.
