Some initial thoughts after updating to iOS 10

I don't know exactly what version of iTunes I have as Jaws doesn't read the about box to me. Anyway, I'm updating my phone over wifi instead of updating itunes.

It's done.

First thing I noticed was the unlock screen didn't show the numbers, only letters. Maybe I bumped something. Got the numbers after putting in the wrong pass code.

Next thing I notice is the Samantha voice is faster and harsher. Need to switch voices again.

Just heard that new sound when the screen locked.
What's up with touch id? Heard that "press home to unlock then press home to open after I use my finger to unlock. Don't get that. Why do I have to press the home button 2 times as well as use touch id?
I found a page switcher on the bottom right so it seems like a different way to get to the camera or the
notification screen while locked.

The rotor says "speaking rate" instead of speech rate.

I don't understand these unnecessary little changes. Why pay attention to changing something that works instead of fixing things that are broken or don't work well? I know, that's a silly question.

I'm doing app updates now. Yes. VO keeps announcing screen page numbers, something it didn't do before. Is that necessary? Not a problem but again, fixing things that aren't broken.

I think this is turning in to a diary of my iPhone update.Hope you don't mind.
Going off now to look for bugs. Will try to update this if and when I find some.

If you have the verbosity issue, this thread will say all the landmark type labels like article and article end at the beginning and end of each post. The Apple Vis page where it shows all the latest posts has the page layout tables announced and the Colum and row numbers will be announced as you flick through the headings.
I am interested to know if you are not having all that announced because that will settle whether it is a bug or a feature.

Hi CrockerBear. Yes. All the table information is read out.

I suppose I better call Apple accessibility team too.

I would like to test a page where the reader button is available in Safari.

I wanted to update from my computer but don't have the latest version of Itunes. I didn't want to update it so used over the air update on the device instead. At least it went well.

How do I find out what version of itunes I have on Windows?

To revert to the way Touch ID worked in previous versions, where the user would simply place their finger on the home button to unlock the device, go to settings>general>accessibility>home button>rest finger to open.
