Hello,
On iOS10 I notice every once in a while I see this in the app switcher. It does this for a few of my apps. Like for example it says Uber based on current location, periscope based on current location, shipt based on current location, etc. Anyone know what that is? When I double tap on it it just pulls up the app. This is showing even when the app is not open.

Apple has a new feature that's been in iOS for a while that makes intelligent suggestions about apps you might use based on your current location, or even the time of day. If it's midnight, and you typically read a book before you go to sleep, it'll present something like Audible, bard mobile or a book you use to read books. Hope that explains it.

hi, that normally doesn't happen in the app switcher, do you mean the spotlight? as in, 3 finger flick right from the first page of your home screen? or 3 finger flick down on an icon on there? that's where you should see those, not the app switcher, which is double press of the home key.

I have seen the same thing in my ap switcher, and would also like to know why this is happening.

I also have the same thing in the app switcher. The apps are based on the time of day, location and so on. This feature has been around since iOS 9 came out. Siri can now offer intelligence throughout the system. For example, you might listen to music every morning. The music app will be available at the bottom left of the screen when you wake up the phone. When you unlock your iOS device, for example your iPod touch and activate the app switcher, you might see a message saying something like "music, good morning..." Hope this helps.

How do we turn it off? Do not like it.

I think it shows your current location is being used, and it's just letting you know this. Also look under settings, privacy to see this. This has ben a feature since I believe iOs 8.
