Is it possible to have VoiceOver coming through my phone's speaker, while music's going out through a Bluetooth device?
I thought at first the channel options in the VoiceOver audio menu in iOS 10 made this possible, but that's just for turning either the left or right speakers off. I don't really see the point with it, unless some people want music through the left speaker and VoiceOver through the right or something crazy like that.
I just wanna control the music when hanging out with sighted friends without VoiceOver disrupting the music. LOL

The answer is no.
The answer is no.
Even though I have no device that runs IOS 10, I called the accessibility line and asked them your question. It's not set up like a Mac where you can control alot of that where VoiceOver comes out of the CPU, and the sounds come out of a bluetooth device.
Not possible?
You're saying this isn't possible with iOS? I thought we would be able to split VO from the rest of the system. I guess the only new thing has to do with sending VO speech or VO sounds specifically through the left or right channel. I guess this is useful for people with hearing issues. Oh well. I'm kind of disappointed as I thought we'd be able to use VO like we can on the Mac in terms of sending VO to another device.
Not possible at all
Not possible at all.
Even in the IOS 6, 8, and 9 updates, this wasn't possible. The left and right channels only have to do with where audio is coming out from.
Thanks. I didn't think it was
Thanks. I didn't think it was possible, but never hurts to ask. I'll email Apple Accessibility.
Yeah, we would all love that.
Yeah, we would all love that. If you can do it in macos, why not iOS given how fast iPhones are these days? It works over air play, after all.
What the f**k
Very disappointed. When I read about the voiceover audio thing I thought it ment I could have vo through the phone and music through a bt device. It was one of the main reasons I gave up my much loved jailbreak and updated to iOS 10. Now I am on iOS 10 and the feature discription was very misleading and now I am without a jailbreak and with a feature that does not work as described.
Preach, jessica
I did the same thing sort of. I didn't give up a jilbrek, but I did update in spite of the fact that I normaly wouldn't in large part because I thought this feature was going to be there. I read a description somewhere that sounded like that was exactly what was going to be put out, but oh well. False hope. Lol. I, too, will email accessibility and ask them to make this a thing.
VoiceOver and Bluetooth Audio
Hello, has anyone got an answer to this? I talked to Apple Accessibility today and they never heard of this. Thanks
