Hello Everyone,
Now that some of us have a brand-new iPhone 7 sans headphone jack, what are we all doing to cope?
I'm trying a pair of LG Tone Pro Bluetooth earbuds, with mixed results.
I really like them, except for two significant issues:
1. Lag. This is sometimes crippling, especially for us VoiceOver users.
2. Excessive beeping, particularly when editing and typing text.
What is everyone doing? Have you tried a pair of Bluetooth earbuds or headphones with your new iPhone 7? What are you trying, and what are your experiences with them?
I am looking forward to an enlightening discussion.

Lightning EarPods
I'm keeping it boring and just using the lightning EarPods. Lol. I find them more bassy than the older EarPods, with better sound. I like them, but I know not everyone uses the Apple EarPods.

I don't have the 7, but i have used LG's HBS--800 headset for a while. Its great. Not a lot of lag, play/pause, volume, and track skipping buttons,, a button that picks up and ends calls as well as activates siri, and a mic. I got a slightly used pair on amazon for $40.
LG Platinum
1. Lag does exist, but it's not as bad as other Bluetooth audio devices I've used, and suspect it's because it's using low-energy.
2. keyboard beep only happens if VOiceOVer sounds are enabled, but are not present with earcons off.
3. Lag and beep are mostly an issue when using virtual on-screen keyboard, so I've been using Braille on-screen input.
4. I carry the lightning to 3.5mm audio adapter with me and continue to use my Bose SoundSports.
5. I mostly use the LG Platinum when iPhone 7 is charging or when my Bose SOundSports are connected to another device and I don't feel like swapping/connecting adapter.

To mention though I don't do a lot of typing with them to be fair I usually just listen to music on the way to work.
A2DP works fine for music,
A2DP works fine for music, APtX was suppose to have with true music audio-quality/latency, BLE helps with battery, multi-point was suppose to helped with device-switching; now, W1 is suppose to help with latency and pairing/switching, but we'll see.
THe ultimate test will happen whenever these AirPods can be tested with VoiceOver virtual keyboard typing/editing :)

I don't have the iPhone 7 yet but I do use wireless headphones when I don't want to use my EarPods and I use the beats wireless One that go in the year and have the loop around here but I meant ears
So, do they all beep excessively?
Do they all beep excessively when editing and typing using the on-screen keyboard? It's a little more than annoying at this point, so I would try a pair of Bluetooth headphones that don't have this problem. Does anyone know why this happens? Thanks.

Boy, am I glad I'm not the only one unsure of where to start here. I have an SE and had a 5S before that, so no iPhone 7 here, but Bluetooth audio has been a part of my life for some time now. Makes being on the go a lot easier. I've been using a little pair of LG Bluetooth earbuds that's really functional, but for some reason it just isn't loud enough for me. I have minor, undiagnosed hearing loss, so nothing by way of needing hearing aides or amplification--it's just that I cannot seem to hear these buds very well unless I'm in a very quiet room. I recently purchased some wired Audio-Technica earbuds for work which, oh my God are they amazing, so I thought maybe I'd give their Bluetooth earbuds a try too. Best I've ever heard. Problem? They made VoiceOver drag like nobody's business, I'm guessing because of the enormous drivers and the wireless transfer of still-excellent quality. It's not quite like the delay you'd experience when you connect to the stereo system in someone's car, but it's bad enough that I couldn't put up with it. So sadly, I returned those glorious-sounding Audio-Technica Bluetooth earbuds.
So my question stands only to echo the posters here--what are some good quality earbuds that deliver sufficient volume without that annoying delay? As another note, I tend to like the kind you can wear like a collar and also have controls on them so everything's as hands-free as possible.
Thanks in advance for your insight! I can read about quality earbuds all day long, but I'll never know until I try a bunch of them (and probably end up frustrated) which ones will be both loud enough and not cause a delay with VoiceOver.
As a note to the originator of this thread, the incessant beeping while you type can be rectified by turning off keyboard clicks. I remember having that issue, too, at first. Make sure if any of you are M-Braille users that the click feature is turned off both in M-Braille and in your sound settings. I noticed that this fix also detracted from any lag, at least with the LG's I've been using.

Based on below excerpt, latency in w1 chip is less than most Bluetooth, but latency /= 0 ms | /= Wired connection.
