As many readers may already know, Apple is holding an event on September 7, 2016. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. PDT/1:00 p.m. EDT.
While nothing is known for sure, it is likely that Apple will introduce the iPhone 7 and confirm the release date of iOS 10. Some strong rumors are suggesting that we will also hear news about the second generation Apple Watch. Whether this event will bring news of a MacBook refresh is currently less certain, with recent rumors suggesting that this will come at a dedicated event later this Fall. For all of the specifics, 9to5mac has a round-up of what to expect.
As is traditional for us, we'll be covering Apple's September 7 event here on AppleVis. We'll be posting all of the major news and announcements from the event on the @AppleVis Twitter account, as well as updating this page with a live blog of the keynote. Shortly after the event, Alex Hall will also be posting a round-up and analysis of the announcements.
For those wishing to watch the event in real time, Apple will live stream the keynote on its website at www.apple.com/live, as well as on the Apple TV. Apple's live stream requires an iOS device running iOS 7 or later; a Mac running OS X 10.8.5 and Safari 6.0.5 or later; or Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. For users of the Fourth-Generation Apple TV, Apple offers an 'Apple Events' app that users will need to download in order to watch on that device.

Why?
Come on guys, the conspiracy theories around the headphone jack are getting ridiculous. There's no way Apple would tick people off even more by rendering their existing Earpods and 3.5 jacks nonfunctional. If nothing else, iOS 10 will still have to support the jack since the current iPod, iPhone, and iPad lines all come with them. Apple can be a bit ridiculous with the upgrade treadmill, however there's no way they'd commit business suicide by deliberately rendering devices people already own nonfunctional. Good grief.
Nintendo did nothing
There's no way Nintendo made the Mario game accessible on Windows. The movement system was all wrong (jerky, not scrolling) and the music was clearly a bad analog recording from the original NES. Truth be told, whoever did it had better hope Nintendo never finds out who they were (the version I had was uncredited) since they're known to go after people who use their material without their permission.

Also. someone on here said something about the airpods only running for 5 hours. That is the talk time. They run normally for 20 hours or so on audio, plus they work with older devices using bluetooth. No worries there.
Looking forward to the fred voice
First of all, I'm so looking forward to the release of iOS 10, especially the Fred voice, as I use him as my default voice on the mac. As far as the iPhone 7, not interested, as the phone is for people who prefer to have big hands. I, for one have small hands, and I prefer smaller phones such as the iPhone SE or 5s. Speaking of the 5s, apple has discontinued the iPhone 5s, however, cellphone cariers such as at&t, Verizon, and t-Mobile, still have the phone. I might switch to t-Mobile, if they have a good deel. I might just stick with the current phone, but move my current number to the new carrier. I'm happy with my 5s, as it's compatible with iOS 10, and it is super fast with the 64 bit processer. I haf to save storage, though, as if I download 2 many voices, it will make my storage full. But nevertheless, I prefer smaller phones with smaller screens. also, I cannot wait till Super Mario runn is available for us. I remembered when I was a kid, I used to play the games on my super nentendo system, but I enjoyed listening to the 8-bit music/sounds, such as when you jump, and when you earn coins. Now that we've moved onto phones and downloads, I'm sure that Super Mario runn will be a fun game to play. I hope it will be accessible to play. It does come with in app purchases, but I'm guessing it's to purchase coins or extra levels. I will read up on it, as soon as it's released. also, for the airpods, not interested, as I already have the shado wireless earphones which provides amazing sound quality. It works well with apps such as Zello walkie-talkie, Roger, etc. The nice thin about Shado wireless is that you could charge and listen at the same time. Not so with airpods, as you haf to place them into the case. darn, that sucks. aw well. I'm happy with my shado. I also have a pare of soney bluetooth hedphones which are also wireless. I also have an auvio bluetooth speaker that is also wireless and you could also charge and listen at the same time. yes, I have 3 bluetooth devices, 2 hedphones and a bluetooth speaker.
No iPhone 7 yet, but looking forward to IOS 10
Hi! After listening to a big chunk of the Apple event on 7 September and catching up with the rest of the announcements in this blog entry, I confirm my decision to keep my iPhone 6 for as long as I feel I can, while it still works with new IOS versions, so as it'll work with IOS 10 it's not going anywhere. I wouldn't want anything bigger than an iPhone 6 when I do upgrade, so, if for any reason I do end up getting a 7 earlier than <planned,it won't be the Plus model, as the smaller iPhone 7 is the same size as the 6. The demise of the 3.5 mm headphone jack wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me, especially as there is an adaptor with the iPhone 7 so I'd still be able to use my wired over-ear headphones when I want to. I am pretty sure I won't be investing in those new airpods, as they are pretty expensive, and if I get an iPhone 7 it would have wired lightning earpods with it anyway. I admit I'm intrigued as to whether the stereo speakers on the 7 would sound good or not, even though I tend to use my iPhone with a bluetooth speaker instead of the built-in one when I'm not using headphones or earbuds. I've never used 3D Touch so I can't comment on that; In spite of my comments above, I don't expect to buy an iPhone 7 any time soon, I'll probably wait till next year's model to upgrade my phone, but in the meantime I'm certainly looking forward to IOS 10, not just because of the wider choice of voices, but also because of other improvements that I've heard about, such as moving apps being much easier: given that IOS 10 is compatible with several older iPhone models, I expect that people who don't have 3D Touch, like me, should still be able to use it successfully, even though Apple have made a point of saying how use of 3D Touch has improved. As IOS 10 is more important to me right now than the iPhone 7, I'll end this rather long post by saying: roll on the release of IOS 10 on 13 September!
Air Pods
If the battery life on the Air Pods is more like 20 hours, that is slightly better. Still, the price is way too high. If they're the same Apple earbuds that we've had before, I know I won't like them because they will hurt my ears. I just want to know if these solve the audio latency and 8 KHZ mono issues that you get when using them as a microphone. As a random side note, these kind of remind me of those pods from the Doctor Who episodes Rise of the Cybermen and Age of Steel. We will all be upgraded!

I read on buzfeed that a single charge of the airpods will give 5 hours listening time and I think it was 2 or 3 hours talk time. the 20 hours thing is because the air pods case comes with an inbuilt battery which can recharge the airpods and its the charges in the case that can give 20 hours of listening, but its not 20 hours of continuous listening, a single charge of the air pods will give 5 hours listening time.

Wow, that is pretty bad. I expect much more from $160. I suspect half of that cost is simply because you're buying from a premium provider like Apple. I'll just use my SoundTrax headphones that give me about 40 hours of listening time on a charge.
Again this will probably fall
Again this will probably fall on deaf ears the reason they're only five hours battery life is because it's a earbud that is the size of a quarter basically. I can't comment on sound quality because we have not heard them but I think that's pretty impressive for the times. Yes I do have a pair of Bose headphones but they are about 20 times the size of an earbud. Imagine the EarPods with no wire that's with the AirPod is. Samsung has A pair that only last one hour for $40 more than the air pods.
