Hi I'm looking for an easy and inexpensive faxing app,
I remember reading here there was one that had free incoming fax numbers in area code 815.
I can't remember the name,
I looked at ifax and its $17.99 per month.
I would like one to send faxes also that I can transfer the faxes in pdf format to my computer to send out by email or upload the easier the better.
I saw tiny fax and EFAX but I don't know wich is accessible.
Thanks,
Carlos

What I use for faxing
Hi, I use www.trustfax.com, have been for years, and I have an annual subscription, and it performs as you would like, with incoming faxes coming as PDF email attachments. You can attach PDFs or Word or txt files to an email sent from your registered address and simply send them to, as an example, 8661234567@trustfax.com, and off they go. You will receive email notifications of success or failure. Your account gives you a toll-free phone number which works in Canada or the U.S.. I live in Canada, and so it definitely works here, and I have received faxes from the U.S. The default annual account costs about $20.00 U.S. and gives you 70 pages of activity, that is, inbound and/or outbound. If you exceed this, then, of course, your credit card is billed for extra pages. By default, your account is set up to precede each fax with a cover page holding your contact info.
I remember rapidfax was about
I remember rapidfax was about $10 a onth and you had about I think 100 or so pages to work with during that time. The scanns were tiff and you could just run them through ocr to read them. I don't use them anymore as I don't fax anymore. It works though.
Thanks for the site youuse. I'll have to take a look at that should I need to fax anyone.
efax is the most well known
Efax is the most well known, but I do not know if they have an app. You can have the service send the files via PDF or tif. They can also send out via E-mail to any fax number. I'm not too familiar with tiny fax, but efax is part of the call sciences brand here in Los Angeles. You could also get onebox which is more expensive depending on the plan, but you could call and see what it'd cost just to use it as a fax number. Its got toll-free and long distance options. If you want the long distance, I'd call. Call Sciences can be found at www.callsciences.com. Don't remember their number off hand.
pay as you go
I think Efax has a pay as you go plan along with some other faxing services. It's nice because if you don't send or get faxes that often then you don't have 2 pay a monthly or annual fee. I'd check on that option too with which ever service you decide to use.
