Hello. I have a problem Merging FaceTime calls. Firsth, I am in a FaceTime audio call. I double-tap on the Add Call button. I double-tapped on another contact to join the call. I waited and I double-tapped on the Merge calls button. It didn't work. I am using iOs8.4 with a iPad Mini.

This has been a problem for quite a while. Apple has not fixed this option in any of they're IDevice line. I have two iPod touch's. They are both fifth gen units. One's a 16gb unit, and the other one's a 64gb unit. I'm also running the same iOS version that your running.
All we can do is to keep reporting this to Apple's accessibility department and hope that they will come out with a patch for this problem that has been happening for a while now. .

I try not to waste everyone's time by posting just to rant, but if they aren't going to fix it I wish they would just remove the add call button, or tell us, hey it doesn't work. In all the forums out there Apple just appears to ignore the issue, but you still can't do a conference call in Facetime audio, or video I assume. I had really hoped this would be addressed under 9. If anyone has other information please let us know.

Hi all, my iphone is on the latest version 9.3.4, now while on one-to-one call, I try to add another contact by clicking to ADD button, but then the first person goes on HOLD and the keypad shows a SWAP option and there is no MERGE option, and i only have the choice of talking to the second contact and then say bye bye to him/her and SWAP back to the first contact who was on HOLD. Any idea, as why there is still no option of have a multiple/conference call?

if you bring up your contacts to add call, make sure the party is facetime capable, and you add the call by tapping on the facetime audio icon, not the number. if you tap on the number, it will simply make a regular call, and your option would be simply swap between calls. FaceTime audio is a secure call, it cannot be merged with unsecured call.

I made sure both parties were called with FaceTime Audio, no problem there, but I still can't merge the calls. The merge button appears dimmed out, not as a clickable option. Is this still something Apple knows about but hasn't addressed? Any solutions anyone?

i had not used this feature for quite a long time, i just tried it and it didn't work for me, either.

i read the latest iphoneuser's guide for iOS 10, couldn't find any reference for merging FaceTime calls, so i surmise this feature has been removed.

You'd think if it were removed though, they'd get rid of the "add contacts" altogether.
