Hi,
Feliciano Godoy, Snapchat, Version 9.37.0.0 for iOS has VoiceOver improvements. Although Snapchats were able to be posted with VoiceOver off, now you can post using VoiceOver. What do you find accessible compared to the previous versions?

accidental accessibility
Hello,
Does anyone know if Snapchat is actually making accessibility improvements, or if this was just an accidental accessibility improvement on their part? Main reason I ask is to figure out whether to expect them to break it in the future or not.
what improvements have been
what improvements have been made exactly? if its improved guess the app entry needs updating. I don't actually know anyone who uses snapchat personally, though I do know some organizations who do, I am not sure if its worth me recreating a snapchat account, as isn't the point mostly about sharing pictures? guess it depends how substantial the accessibility improvements are, I remember last time I used it there were hardly any button labels in sight.
Improvements
Taking pictures and sending them/adding them to your story is now pretty accessible. I haven't quite figured out the process of watching stories when I double tap on a name, all stories start playing in succession.
sorry, but it is not accessible.
Hello.
no, this app continues without SATISFACTORY accessibility.
I installed the app and tested, and not have enough accessibility to use with satisfaction
still continues with many issues.
for me,It is not accessible!
cheers.
even if it was fully
even if it was fully accessible I would be unlikely to use it, as for me pictures and videos just waste iPhone space which I can find much better uses for like storing books. I think the hole idea of snapchat is mostly visual in nature so I don't really see the point in it for VoiceOver only users. though of course they should have the choice to use it if they want, but I won't be losing two many nights sleep if it remains inaccessible.
Understanding
If it is the case that Snapchat is actually making efforts to make their app accessible, then I think that satisfactory accessibility is good for the first try. Again I am only saying this if the accessibility was purposeful, but criticizing the app for having satisfactory accessibility seems pretty ungrateful. I hope that they truly are striving for this. I think that feedback and mild appreciation is going to be more accepted than criticism.
It is possible to view stories, create your own story, and take pictures without turning off voiceover.. That is much more than what was available previously.
I know how to send snaps
Hey guys,
after I've teste the app, I figured out how to send snaps using voiceover. hold down the voume button, which activates record mode. after you record, a screen will pop up that contains several options. I whent to the send snap, and dubble taped on it, and it sent the snap. If anyone wants to add me, my username on their is:

Santiago,
Santiago,
The Snapchat update did not mention anything about accessibility or VoiceOver improvements.

Mario,
Mario,
I can successfully take a picture or video put a caption on it and upload it to my story without any problems with voiceover on. In the previous updates, this was not possible with voiceover on. If I may ask, what tasks were you trying to complete that were on satisfactory?

No it is not mentioned in updates
Just because it's not mentioned in the app update itself, does not mean that it doesn't have improvements. It is a lot easier than it has been to do things with voiceover now. Whether or not it was intensional, I'm not sure. But this app has now gone from inaccessible to somewhat accessible.
I am excited about this
I am extremely excited about this. I am one who loves the idea of Snapchat and I use the Instagram stories feature constantly. I think we all should write to Snapchat thanking them for making accessibility improvements and encouraging them to continue making Snapchat accessible with Voiceover.
still needs work
I will start off by saying I am glad to see that the app is somewhat accessible. It's better than not at all. However...
If I could make a wish list it would include:
1. An accessible sign-up process. The 3 x 3 square board with the "select which squares contain the ghost" is not at all accessible. I had to have sighted assistance to get past it.
2. Ability to choose the camera. I see the "camera chooser," but it doesn't indicate which camera you have selected.
3. The buttons that read nothing. I've discerned that the one to the right of the "take a snap" button is the one that takes you to your feed, but it would be great if it was labeled.
I'm sure I'll think of more, like I'm still not sure I can reliably play someone's snaps and find that I kind of feel like I so happen to stumble to get it done, but slow motion is better than no motion. Perhaps I'll write this same wish list to the app support itself, if I can reliably figure my way back to my profile to get it done.
a way to get past the gost screen
Hey guys,
If you have a mobile phone number, you can verify your snapchat account using your mobile phone number instead. This is the easyest way to get past the gost screen. that's how I did it. I verifyed using phone number instead of email. other than that, snapchat is amazing. yeah, It needs more work, but not bad for bringing accessibility back. I just hope that they don't break the accessibility.
using snapchat
I have a question. I've figured out the buttons along the bottom of the screen with trial and error, but honestly, the main functionality of the app still confounds me... actually posting a snap. How do you know which camera you are using? I had someone look, and it appears it defaults to the rear camera, but it sure doesn't speak this information. Also, it does not tell you if flash is on or off. Has anyone figured out how to reliably use either of these functions? As a side note, instagram stories does provide this information, and at the risk of pitting apps against each other it appears to me that until or unless the developer is willing to make these parts accessible, instagram might win out, even though we all know their stories feature is a carbon copy of what snapchat is already doing.
More Snapchat Accessibility Improvements
I just wanted to let everyone know that the three buttons after the take a snap button are now labeled. They are chat, stories, and share from memories. If you go to stories you can successfully double tap on your story or someone elses story. You can also double tap on chat and chat with someone. Unfortunately, Voiceover still does not read which camera is facing and it does not tell you whether flash is turned on or not. However, I thought labeling those three buttons is a huge improvement.
thanks for he update
I have not opened snapchat in a while, but perhaps I'll go back and play with it now, as it seems to be headed the right direction again. Thanks for letting all of us know. Now, if we can just get the camera sorted, this might be better than instagram stories.
The Camera Issues...
Hi! Thanks for your response. I checked today and if you do a search on facebook for snapchat the first page that comes up is there's. It has tons of links to various articles. I've never written a developer so I'm not sure what to say or which links to include to help guide them in the right direction but I'm wondering if we all messaged them through Facebook or commented on some of the articles they post if they would respond. If the buttons can be labeled the camera and flash buttons should be able to be fixed.
Blind Friendliness of Snapchat
While not all of the buttons are labeled for VoiceOver users, it is still possible to use Snapchat. I love how it works otherwise. I'm going to have a sighted person come over tomorrow and explain what the unlabeled buttons are, then label them and provide a more in depth explanation. I want to be a heavy user of Snapchat, and I have also contacted Snapchat support.
