Hello all, I wanted to let you know that a friend and I just experienced a major bug with iOS 6 where the Wi-fi is not working. Heres the problem: When I log into my wireless network, It logs in successfully, but then a few seconds later, it takes me to an apple hotspot and it says that the page could not be found, Then the phone switches to 3G and I cannot get on my Wi-fi network. Both my friend and I have a Sprint iPhone 4S. Has anybody experienced this and is there a workaround for this?

That's not a problem for me, I was able to connect to my wifi just fine.

Hello, I have been beta testing iOS 6 on my Verizon Wireless iPhone 4S and I haven't experienced this bug at all, however, I've heard others mention this bug before. I have both a new iPad and an iPhone 4S running iOS 6 and Wifi seems to be working perfectly fine. Sometimes, wifi can be sluggish and switch to 3G, however, you'll barely notice that. If you don't have unlimited 3G connectivity, I'd suggest you turn 3G off while at home. To do this, go to settings, general, cellular data, and turn cellular data off.

Hello, I just did a hard reboot with my iPhone and it seemed to work. Lets hope that stays that way!

Hi,

WiFi works great for me on the iPhone, however I am having the exact same issue with my iPad 2 32 GB, and not sure how to get around the issue. It seems to work for some devices and not for others.

Do a hard reset, hold both the home and sleep/wake button for 10 seconds. That apparently fixes the issue.

I turned my iPad off and on again, and it still doesn't work.

Hi, I'm on a Telus iPHone 4S, 32 gig, and haven't had any issues with wifi so far since installing iOS 6 today.
For those of you who are experiencing Wifi issues, try the following work around: Step 1: Go to your home screen. Step 2: Double tap on settings. Step 3: Double tap on general. Step 4: Double tap on the reset button. Step 5: Double tap on "reset network settings," and then confirm this action. Now, try connecting to a Wifi connection again.

a problem on apple's servres caused this WIFi issue. In layman's terms when you connect to wifi, your iphone/ipod/ipad connects to a webpage to see if further steps are required like a login. If it returns success your iphone/ipod/ipad carries on like normal, if you need to login, like for example if your redirected, that page is displayed so you can take further action. Today, somehow, the necessary page got removed or renamed, and nobody noticed it until 80 bagillian calls beat on the apple call centre. When I called, they had already fixed it by the time I reached an apple rep, so without doing anything, resetting, nun of that, I simply reconnected and away it went. hope that explains it for you all.

OK, I think I found out what it is.

The wifi internal on the IPAD(3) gets confused by the protocols left in memory from the upgrade.

I found the following steps cleared it fully.

For those of you who are experiencing Wifi issues, try the following work around:

Step 1: Go to your home screen.

Step 2: Double tap on settings.

Step 3: Double tap on general.

Step 4: Double tap on the reset button.

Step 5: Double tap on "reset network settings," and then confirm this action.

Now, try connecting to a Wifi connection again.

NO need to put router in only G or B mode, N will work fine after you do these steps.

Apple DOES need to find out what exactly this is and fix it asap.

I downloaded the update yesterday via OTA on Wifi. The download stalled several times, at which point a phone reboot was necessary to get the download going again. After the update was at last downloaded, it gave me an error that simply said the update could not be installed. No error text or number, just simply that an error had occured. I just rebooted the phone again and the update installed. It took forever, during which my phone was completely unusable. Upon starting the phone after the update, the compact voice was back even though it was not set that way before the update, and I had to go through the setup mess. This is where I experienced the Wifi bug. My network was still remembered, however it would not connect no matter how many times I clicked it. Then I had a random idea, and it worked! Double-tap "more info" located one swipe right of your network. Press the "forget network" button. Now, go back to your network and double-tap it. Now, you can enter your Wifi network password as normal without the hotspot authentication. Two more things worth mentioning. 1. As soon as I was successfully connected to wifi, Voiceover switched back to high-quality Samantha almost instantly, with no further action necessary on my part. 2. While I had to make the phone forget my home wifi network, my grandmother also has a password-protected network and when I went over to her house last night, it switched from 3G to that Wifi network as it normally would.

Actually, I noticed the same bug, but as was mentioned, I just tried a hard reboot, and all is well with the world again. I also noticed that for some reason, I couldn't get it to even connect to a wifi connection before the reboot. Bottom line is to try a reboot, and that should clear it up.
