Hi all, not sure if members will have scene a jailbreak for ios 9.3.3 recently came out, I am trying to do this but I have a few questions.
I have downloaded the English software, the cydia impactor software which installs the jailbreak is screen reader accessible which makes a change considering past offerings from the pangu team.
However the tutorial which describes the jailbreak process unfortunately assumes as usual that all people can use a mouse, and it talks about dragging an ipa file over the apps interface which is obviously not practical with a screen reader.
I can't seem to find a brows button or anything to point it to the file in the cydia impactor menu apart from something to do with a boot image but obviously I don't want to go trying things without knowing results.
Have any users on this site managed to get jailbroken?
to be honest if this is something I will need sighted help for I just won't bother because you have to renew the jailbreak every 7 days, and if the first part of it is inaccessible anyway then it really isn't worth bothering with.

It is a little confusing at first as all the controls are for Android. What you actually need to do is drop the pangu IPA file on the title bar of the impactor application. I used the following steps with jaws.

1. open cydia impactor
2. open windows explorer and browse to the directory where you have stored the Pangu IPA.
3. once the Pangu IPA is selected route the jaws cursor to the PC cursor.
4. Use jaws key + control + num pad slash to select the Pangu IPA for dragging.
5. Alt tab to the Cydia Impactor window.
6. Use the jaws cursor to find the title bar of the cydia impactor window.
7. Use the jaws key + control + num pad slash keystroke to drop the Pangu IPA on to the title bar of cydia impactor.
8. A new dialog will pop up but it will not have focus by default. Alt tab to the new dialog and enter your Apple ID information.

If your phone is already connected it should sign the IPA and upload it to the phone. You do not need to use your primary Apple ID that you use on the phone to sign the IPA but I did do this. You need to repeat this signing process every 7 days unless you have a paid developer account, however you only need to re-run the jailbreak application on your phone if you reboot. If you do not reboot your phone you can stay jailbroken for longer than seven days.

I hope this helps. Things may be different with other screen readers but the important takeaway is that you need to drag and drop the IPA on the title bar of the cydia impactor windows specificly. You cannot just drop it anywhere in the cydia impactor window.

I tried rooting the jaws to pc curser, Then selecting the .ipa file and dragging and dropping it on the title bar of impactor. However, this doesn't work. Can anyone help me. Also I would like to know, if you can do it with NVDA

Can You provide a link to the english app? I can't seem to find it. Also, don't you have to re-install it every 7 days, or re-sign it or something...

You can go to cydiaimpactor.com and download the application. You can search for .ipa file to download that as well. If anyone can do a tutorial on how to jailbreak, that would be good. I am running the on-device jailbreak, but it is in Chinese.

So I tried using the method I described in my previous post with the NVDA screen reader and I was not able to make it work. Even when I locked the left mouse button on the pangu app and unlocked it on the cydia impactor title bar. The method I described in my last post works fine for Jaws so maybe someone who is a better NVDA user than I can help us out with this.

It should be noted that with the new version of the Pangu IPA (V1.1) you can choose to use Pangu's revoked development certificate after you successfully sign the IPA with cydia impactor the first time. Just check the box to install the certificate when you are running the Pangu app on the device. Once this is done you will not need to reload the Pangu application until the Pangu certificate expires in April of 2017. You do not need to worry about this step if you don't mind resigning with impactor every seven days.

This jailbreak has been very stable so far on my device (iPhone SE). Good luck to everyone trying to get it installed.

I try to do what you outlined, but it doesn't seemto work. Maybe I am getting the keystrokes wrong?

By ground024 on Monday, August 22, 2016 - 03:12

I am using the laptop keyboard layout. The drag and drop keystroke that I am using is holding down the control and capslock key while pressing the number pad slash. The number pad slash is also what is used as jaws left mouse button and is the key directly to the right of the num lock key. Sorry if you already know most of this, I'm just trying to be clear.

The other thing you need to check is when you do the keystroke to pick up the Pangu app in windows explorer you are actually on one of the characters of the filename. It is not good enough just to be on the correct line. Likewise, when you drop the pangu IPA on the title bar of cydia impactor you need to be on one of the characters of the text "cydia impactor". When I do this I use the first character in the filename of the IPA to select and the C that is the first character of the cydia impactor title bar to drop. I've tested this with Jaws versions 12 and 17 with the latest version of cydia impactor (0.9.31 at the time I am writing this).

Is it necessary to press jaws plus num+ before dragging.

By ground024 on Monday, August 22, 2016 - 03:12

I use the jaws key and number pad dash (top far right on the num pad) to move the jaws cursor to the PC cursor every time I change Windows in the process. So it is used one time when I am selecting the IPA to drag and then again after I alt tab over to the cydia impactor window. After the second route command I use the arrow keys to move the jaws cursor to the first letter of "cydia impactor" in the title bar and then issue the drop command.

I also noticed some people were asking for a link to download the software. All the information and software you need for this process can be found at the Pangu team's English web site.

Make sure you only download from the official site to avoid malware or scams that try to trick people into paying for jailbreaks.

Hi, many thanks for the help, I have been able to get jailbroken fine, was going mad trying to get drag and drop to work, and jaws isn't exactly helpful, no prompt saying an item has been selected for dragging, I am sure there was back in the day when I listened to the original training on drag and drop with jaws 3.3.1.
Anyway I have one further question regarding jailbreaking, where is the option to use the pangu certificate that expires after a year?
when doing the jailbreak I didn't see an option for this, I am not sure if its on the pc or the phone, all I did when jailbreaking was enter my burner apple id information which I set up only for jailbreaking, and then set it running, so I have no idea if I am using the certificate that will expire in 7 days or not, I had a look under device management but there was nothing in there.
hoping I haven't created inconvenience for myself or if I have its an easy mistake to correct. I am using the version 1.1 of the ipa file downloaded from pangu.
It does make a change to once again have an accessible jailbreak, as I understand it impacter is written by sorick not pangu, so I guess its him we largely have to thank, still at least the pangu app itself doesn't use some weird inaccessible interface.

It is a check box in the app. How did you jailbreak? The drag and drop is not working with jaws

By ground024 on Monday, August 22, 2016 - 03:12

When you first start the Pangu app you will be placed on an unlabeled button. This is the button to jailbreak the device. I personally used the voice over two finger tap and hold to label this button "start". If you swipe right you will then here "press start to jailbreak". Swiping right a third time will take you to another unlabeled button. This is actually the check box to install the Pangu enterprise certificate. If you double tap voice over will then tell you this button is selected. After that is done you can just press the start button (the first unlabeled button in swipe order). Your device will be jailbroken and the Pangu enterprise certificate should be installed.

That said, I haven't had much luck getting the enterprise certificate to install myself. It either simply doesn't install and leaves my personal developer certificate installed or if it does install the Pangu enterprise certificate then the Pangu app will not verify so refuses to run. I personally believe this is because Apple revoked the enterprise certificate used by Pangu. However, some people are reporting that it still works so your milage may very. I'm personally just sticking with the seven day personal developer certificate for now.

is there some trick to finding the checkbox? and when you say its in the app, is this in the one on the phone or the cydia impacter running on the PC?
as to how I got the jailbreak to work, as the poster said above I found the ipa file to make things easier I put it in the cydia impacter folder after extracting it, then I rooted jaws to pc cursor, and placed it on the first letter of the file name, positioning seems crucial for this to work. then performed the drag and drop command, jaws didn't say anything.
then I alt tabbed over to the cydia impacter window, activated the jaws cursor without rooting to pc, and found the c in the cydia impacter title bar, and pressed the drag and drop keystroke again, after that as described the dialogue opened though I did have to alt tab over to it as it didn't get focus, after that it all worked great and was accessible.

if you don't want to have to resign the app every 7 days, you could use the Chinese version. If you want, I can show you how to do it

By alex wallis on Monday, August 22, 2016 - 03:12

So does the english app not offer the one year certificate? if this is the case I would definitely like to know how to use the Chinese tool, or is this going to be using the safari method for which a guide has been posted?

Many people report having trouble with getting the certificate for the English jailbreak to work

By alex wallis on Monday, August 22, 2016 - 03:12

that's because its a cat and mouse game, apple keeps revoking the 1 year certificates which is kind of understandable given what they are being used for.
