Hello all,
I got my new Mac today. I got the 13.3 air. It has the I7 quad cor 2.2ghz processor, 8gigs of ram and a 512gig SSD hard drive. How in the world do I get voice over to start when I reset or bring the unit back up from sleep Right now I am having to hit command F5 each time to turn voiceover back on. Man mac sure is different than Windows and it is going to take me some time to get use to it. Also when I plugged the unit in the AC adapter was really hot when I unplugged it. Is this normal or should you not use it when the unit is plugged in

Go to system preferences by hitting Control option M, go down to settings, go to accessibility, voiceover, and make sure enable voiceover is checked.

Assuming FileVault is not on, you can have Voiceover automatically start when you start or wake your computer. To do this, open System Preferences and select users and groups. Click the lock button and enter your password. Select login options from the users, groups, and login options group and select the, "Use Voiceover in the login window," checkbox.
As for the power adapter, ensure the prongs are extended fully and that all plastic rapping is off. Other than that, the only thing I can suggest is to check your energy usage to see if any apps are using a significant amount of energy. This can be found in the battery status menu. Normally, the power adapter should be slightly warm, but not hot, when charging your Mac.

File Vault encryption is on
Hello,
How can I turn file vault encryption off so I can get voiceover to start at log in? I am finding that voiceover does start after I log in. I do have to turn it on at the log in screen though. I am also noticing issues when trying to use Safari but I will put those kinds of questions in another thread. I am actually writing this comment on the new Mac. It was a bit difficult to get logged into Apple Vis but as I stated thats for another thread.

security and privacy preferences
In System Preferences>security and privacy under the FileVault tab, there should be a button to turn off FileVault. If it is dimmed, click the lock and enter your password.
