VoiceOver Stuck in Headset

Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed VoiceOver getting stuck in the headset rather than coming through the speaker when I remove headphones. Is there a setting I can check to see what is causing this? Since I typically use headphones with my device I am not totally sure when this started but I know it is been going on for at least a couple of weeks and just in the last few days it is almost impossible to get VO back through the speaker. Siri seems to be coming through the speaker without any issue but once you release the button, VO goes back into the headset. The only thing I have found to routinely fix the issue is to start Pandora so the speaker gets reactivated. Now that just doesn't make sense but at least we know my speaker works fine. Thank you in advance!

I'm just shooting in the dark on this. What is running in the background. Do a double tap on your home. Are there things in there? The reason I ask is that Zello for example drives me nuts. If I use my headset on Zello then go off to do other things. I take my headset off and my speaker will fail to work until I kill Zello or double tap on the Speaker with in Zello itself. So in theory and a shot in the dark. Kill everything in your App Switcher and see if this resolove your problems first. Otherwise, if you have everything off and you still have this problem. It is a small chance that the issue is in the jack itself and doesn't know when to release to go back to speaker? Hopefully, somebody else has a better solution than I can give you.
