Very often when I unlock my phone, the phone app gets launched. I thought this was only happening to me but I've just read another blogg post on this site where its been mentioned. I am using IOS 5.1.1. Is there any fix for this annoying problem?

Neo, I'm sure you got my point!
There may be a fix of sorts using the Activator app but I've not had enough time to be certain whether it works all the time. Was checking if there might be a jailbreak tweek like Stay Opened but working in reverse etc or someone else may have found a way.

The same bug made the emergency call dialer come up, if you were entering a passcode. However, this bug seems to be fixed in iOs 6, at least I haven't noticed it on the iPhone 4 with iOs 6 gm.
Hi! I've had a similar problem when unlocking my iPhone 4S, except that it tends to be the Weather app, which is the leftmost app on my dock, which opens when I unlock the phone. I've often found that sliding my finger slowly across the phone to unlock it, rather than double-tapping, makes it unlock without launching any other apps. If an app does launch accidentally and you don't want it to, the app switcher is your friend: just close the app you didn't mean to launch in the first place.
Also when unlocking, it sometimes goes into the mode where it thinks you want to move apps on the screen which you normally do by double tapping and holding your finger on the screen. I have to press the home button to go back to being able to launch an app.

It's not actually the Phone app specifically but whatever app is in the bottom left. In fact if you have Tweetlist open and on screen when you lock your phone, when you unlock again you will open a tweet from your timeline. If you just wait a second before touching the screen again, or use the slower slide to unlock method as the previous commenter said, you won't launch anything. It is irritating though.

when you unlock your phone make sure and don't touch anything until it's done speaking. I've had this problem before and fixed it by doing what I'm explaining now. It will work. Aaron

Thanks for the tips. I didn't know it was any app on the bottom left of the dock that is launched. If your phone is jailbroken then you can also use the activator app and set it to unlock your iphone when you press the volume down button instead of having to touch the slider control on the screen. It seems to work but I keep forgetting to use it due to muscle memory.
