Hi, guys.
So I've had my iPhone for 8 months and have a 2-year contract with AT&t. But I want to trade my phone in for a google nexus 6p. I don't know if it's possible to do that with a contract. Have any of you ever traded your iPhone in before your contract was up? What was your experience like?
Thanks.

No, I have a
No, I have a two year contract and I still haven't traded my phone for a new one. The iPhone 5S is the first phone I've ever had. My experiences with the phone are very good. The only thing is that my iPhone 5S has only 16 GB of storage. I wanted to get a 32 GB iPhone 5S but it was too expensive. After my contract is done I might upgrade to the iPhone SE. Do you know if the iPhone SE comes with 32 GB of storage? Are you wondering if the nexus phone will be accessible? So I was testing a nexus phone before and all I can say is that the nexus phones are mostly accessible. Maybe you can go to your carrier and compare the nexus phone to the iPhone. Then you can choose which phone you want to buy.
not possible as far as I know
This is not possible as far as I'm aware. You might be able to terminate the contract early, but I've heard you are required to pay an early termination fee and must still pay off the phone.
If you're going to get a Nexus, I'd recommend getting it factory unlocked through the Nexus store. If you get it through your carrier, it will probably have AT&T bloatware installed and will be locked. You may also have to wait for AT&T to push updates from Google which I find unacceptable. If I'm wrong about this, please correct me. I've never purchased a Nexus device through a carrier.
i'm pretty sure the nexus is
i'm pretty sure the nexus is accessible. I want a nexus because sometimes I get bored with iOS. Also, I'm getting a degree in computer science. If you just use Apple products, you are limitting yourself to one operating systems. Android has come a long way in terms of accessibility. It's good to know different operating systems. Also, Nexus devices are often among the first to receive updates. I plan to get a nexus but still use my iOS tablet.
AT&T no longer does contracts
Hi AT&T no longer does contracts which made it tough when I updated from a flip phone to an iPhone. Basically they want you to finance the phone and pay it off for 2 or 3 years by paying like $25 a month. They wouldn't let me just buy the phone from them which is stupid. Next time I'm just going to buy the phone online cause its really not worth dealing with them. I'd see if you could order the phone you want online be less annoying that way.
At least here in Europe Nexus
At least here in Europe Nexus devices can only be purchased through google's site. As @Chris Wright stated, getting a phone through a carrier means you get only what that carrier wants you to use.
You won't have accessibility problems with the Nexus, but the learning curve is biger than on iOS.
I wonder if I order it online
I wonder if I order it online, we would still have the accessibility features?
purchase the phone online
I'd purchase the phone online. You'll get an unlocked Nexus phone that will get updates directly from Google. You may also wish to buy a Sim card adapter kit so that you can swap your card between your iPhone and Nexus. I believe having both operating systems gives you the best of both worlds.
Sure, why not? What I don't
Sure, why not? What I don't know is wether you need sighted help to enable accessibility or you can do it yourself, I never had one of these devices restored from factory settings.
Enabling Accessibility
When you get the Nexus, turn it on and wait about a minute or so. Next, place two fingers on the screen and wait for speech and sound feedback. You may have to press and hold the power button to access the shutdown menu and then perform the two finger gesture. The phone should come with Google text-to-speech, but you can get other engines from the Play Store.
Please keep on-topic for AppleVis
We’ve’ strayed off-topic here for AppleVis, so could we ask that any discussion about the Nexus now be taken to somewhere more appropriate. Thanks.
sorry.

AT&T contracts
Hi. If AT&T no longer has contracts, does that mean you can upgrade whenever you want as long as you pay the full price for the phone? I paid the full price for my phone, but my mom is still paying off the contract.
That is correct. Once you pay
That is correct. Once you pay the phone off you can upgrade to a new phone on att next.
