I'm not sure where to put this. I have a Focus 14 bluetooth braille display. For some reason1 whenever I type on it, my iPad won't take it. It just stays in the field where I'm typing. Whenever I hit space it moves to the next field. I did a forget this device and reset my braille display. I have even restarted my iPad and it still does the same thing. It's hard to search for something.

There used to be a setting to turn on and off automatic translation. I am not sure if they removed this because I cannot locate it now, as I would prefer if it were set to "on".

Are you trying to braille in grade one or contracted braille? Apologies if you are already aware of this but you can cycle through the input method with the dots 2-3-6 chord, that is dots 2-3-6 with space bar.

Hope this helps.

No matter which input I use, it won't type. I ussually use contracted braille. This is frustrating!

At the same time, press the right-most router key and the round (mode) key next to it. You may have to restart your device.
