I'm still very new to the Mac as I've only had my macbook for 2 weeks. I paired a couple different bluetooth headsets to the system and while they work with Skype, Voiceover won't come through the headset. An suggestions on what i've missed? Under voiceover utility it is set to use system default for sound.
Any help would be appreciated.

You need A2DP bluetooth headset
You need a Bluetooth headset or earpiece with A2DP. Some I have used are Plantronics, Marque, Affershockz Bluez 2, and others have mentioned Jabra Stone, Stone 2 and the latest one people are talking about is Jabra Storm, which can connect to two devices at once.
VoiceOver Utility
Hi Fenella ,
The setting that you are looking for is in the VoiceOver Utility.
Open VoiceOver Utility with VO and F8 keys.
Interact with the Utility Categories Table and navigate to Sound.
With Sound selected, navigate to the Output Device Selector and select the device you want.
If you choose Default, VO should be routed to your BT Device when you select that device.
You may also be able to select your BT Device straight from this setting.

Restart VoiceOver
The solution is simple. Press Command F5 to turn off VoiceOver and press it again to turn it back on. VoiceOver speech and sounds should now come from the bluetooth device. If you want to send VoiceOver audio through something like your internal speakers, use the sound output option under the sounds category of VoiceOver utility.
Voiceover on Bluetooth on the Mac
Thank you so very much. The trick about turning off and on voiceover worked perfectly. It is extremely useful to as I sometimes want to listen to something through the Bluetooth speaker while still operating on the Mac. Thanks again.
