To type the acute accents without switching keyboards, press option-e followed by the vowel you want to accent. To type the N with tilde character, press option-n. If you need to capitalize any of the accented vowels, press option-e first and then type the capital letter.
For the accented vowels you need to type Option + e, and then the vowel. á is Option + e, a, é is Option + e, e, and so on. You can type capital accented letters doing the same. ie. Á is Option + e, A. Other symbols that we use in Spanish, but that I don't remember their names in English are typed as follows:
ñ is Option + n, n. ü is Option + u, u.
There is a different way to do it, but it requires to change in your system preferences your keyboard definition from regular English to international English, but I think you will hate it if you don't need to type international characters frequently since some keys will act different to what you are used to. For example with that keyboard you get the accented a á by typing 'a, but then any time you want to type the apostrophe, you will need to type it followed by the space key so not to mark the following letter, and the space will not appear in the text. So if you want to type Carlos' you will need to hit the space bar twice.. It takes some time to get used to it.
Left angle brackets is option + backslash.
Right angle brackets is option + shift + backslash.
Inverted question mark is option + shift + slash.
Inverted exclamation point is option + 1.
I think that should finish the symbols needed for Spanish.
