Hello AppleVis.
I am thinking of upgrading my router and am currently considering a couple of models in the Netgear range.
Does anybody have any experience with the companion iOS app that they provide for setting up and managing routers? If so, how accessible is it?
I have also considered an Asus router, so any comments on their companion app would also be welcome.
Thanks!

Netgeer routers and accessibility.
Even though it's not apple related question, I personally feel netgeer routers and it's configurations are really very much accessible while comparing with other routers. I got a netgeer R6220 and netgeer repeater and a linksys ADSL modem come router with me. I like netgeer better.

[EDIT] I downloaded the asus router app and it is accessible almost 100% but has a huge flaw. After installed it the app notified me there was a router firmware update. From the app you can see what devices are connected to your network, enable or disable 2.4 and 5ghz networks, and that's it. To use the rest of the app features you need to disable VoiceOver, tap the desired option and reenable it. The options are labelled but double tapping on them does nothing. Maybe writing them helps.
I got the Asus rt-AC87U and had no problems setting it up. Actually I had no idea there was an iOS app LOL.
The Netgear App
I didn't know there was one, but after reading this post, I tried it. It's called Genie. The buttons aren't labeled, but this was easily remedied. After the Search Support edit box, you'll have Wireless Settings, Guest Access, Network Map, Set Parental Controls, Traffic Meter, and Media. I'm trying to figure out what all I can do with the app. In Wireless Settings, at the very bottom, I'm seeing "Scan QR Code to Connect." Not exactly sure what that's about. So basically, the app can be made accessible if you label the buttons, but I'm still testing it to see what it's capable of.
